But Im Innocent!

.First Day

I was woken up by my mom shaking me. I didnt answer her at first but she kept shaking me so then I finally looked at her.

Me: What's the matter mom

Mom: Nothing

Me: So why are you waking me up

Mom: Because its time for you to get up.  That camp thing starts at 8:30 am

Me: Ugh I almost forgot about it

Mom: Do you have all your stuff packed up.

Me: Yeah

Mom: Alright well get dressed and come down and get some breakfast so we can get out of here....and wake her up please.

I looked over at Aaliyah and then smacked her with the pillow until she looked over at me

Me: Get up

She groaned but then we got out of bed and brushed our teeth and got ready.

Aaliyah: I cant believe you're going away for 6 months!!

Me: It might not be that long.  It might be 5 months

Aaliyah: Girl 2 weeks is too long for me..this sucks

Me: Yeah I know but it is what it is...anyways lets just go get some breakfast and head out.

Aaliyah helped me carry my bags to the kitchen and then we sat down and ate.

Mom: This place is 30 minutes away

Me: Whats the age groups here again

Mom: 18-21

Me: This is crazy....they better have some good security here for these bad kids

Mom: Maybe not all the kids there are bad

Me: Mom...its a jail camp

Mom: There could be kids in there thats in your exact situation. But dont stress about it too much andrea. Thats the best thing to do is not think about it too much. It'll go by faster than you think and they said you can call and write us every week.

I sighed and continued eating. Once we got finished we took my bags to the car and headed there. We drove for 30 minutes and the whole time I was nervous. I didnt know what to expect. If either there would be a bunch of bad kids that could possibly shank me or maybe kids thatt aren't even as bad as im making it seem. As I was deep in my thoughts I snapped back to reality.  My mom was pulling into a parking lot. I seen benches through the back and there were teenagers sitting down talking or eating or even playing basketball. There was a fence in front of them though. Once we pulled in and got out the car a lot of them got up from the benches or walked off the basketball court  and came over to the fence to look at us. Me and and Aaliyah looked at them back and then got my bags out the trunk. There was one thing I did notice and that was that they all had on orange jump suits.

Me: Wait a minute...is that were going to be wearing the entire time?..

Mom: Im not sure..I didnt see it in the paper..unless I read over it

We finished getting all my stuff out the trunk and then started to walk inside but then some guy from behind the fence made a remark as we were walking past.

Him: Look fresh meat

I looked over at him and so did my mom and Aaliyah. Then a girl made a remark.

Her: They don't even look like they belong in here

I ignored them and just kept walking until we got into the building. We went to the main desk where there sat an officer. They handed my mom some papers she had to fill out and then she gave them back.
