Wallflower (Season Two)

Chapter Two: Prelude to the First Ultrasound.

Jimin was nervous.

This was their first official visit with the doctor to do a proper ultrasound in hopes that the pair would be able to see something of their growing pup. The time before had just been the initial confirmation but Jimin was two, almost three months in now and he was eager and excited to see anything of their pup growing in his slowly rounding belly. Jimin had mourned the quick loss of his perfect abs, but the soft roundness of his belly, made him explode with warmth on the inside. He couldn't help but stare at it in the mirror every morning after his shower and admire that a life, a life that Jungkook and he created was growing. It was such a wonderful and beautiful thing. Jungkook had also noticed that Jungkook's attention was becoming more drawn to his belly as well. He would often wake up and find the other cozied up to his midsection, head against it as he slept soundly. It was very endearing and cute to Jimin.

Jimin slipped off Jungkook's motorcycle, adjusting his sweater after he pulled off the helmet that Jungkook forced him to wear. Jimin then pulled out his phone, fixing his flattened hair as Jungkook secured his bike. Jimin puffed up his squishy cheeks as he lowered his phone and was met with Jungkook's large puppy eyes staring at him. Jimin blinked a little, always caught off guard when Jungkook stared at him like that.

"W – What is it?" Jimin asked, his cheeks flushing. Jungkook blinked, almost as if he seemed to realize he was staring. The Alpha quickly glanced down and blushed a little himself. Jimin lowered his phone and quirked a brow at Jungkook. It wasn't like his mate's staring was anything new. "Jungkookie?"

"Y – You look pretty today." Jungkook said. Jimin's eyes widened before his face turned a darker shade of red and he tugged on the sleeve of his baggy sweater as he glanced off at nothing in particular. Jimin had dressed down for his appointment so to hear Jungkook say that made his heart flutter. Who knew big, round glasses and oversized sweaters were attractive? Jimin then glanced back at Jungkook before he stepped closer, leaning in as he placed a soft kiss on the other's lips. Jungkook's head lifted a bit as he stared wide eyed at Jimin.

"Thank you, you don't look half bad yourself today." Jimin said, stealing another kiss before he went to reach for his shoulder bag. Jungkook's eyes lowered, but he smiled as he seemed content with that. The two went to walk into the small clinic as the bell above the door chimed to signal their arrival. Jimin glanced around, he always loved the simplistic, clean look of this office. The standard fake plants and fish tank added to a calming atmosphere. There were a few people already sitting in the lobby already, another couple and a few Omegas by themselves. Jimin greeted those that made eye contact with a warm smile and bow of his head, Jungkook following his lead as they made it towards the check in desk.

The Beta behind the thin glass panel smiled at the two, sliding it open as she greeted them both with a warm smile.

"Good morning, are you here for an appointment?" The Beta asked and Jimin nodded, shifting to open his bag and pull out his wallet.

"Yes, my name is Park Jimin, I had a ten o' clock with Dr. Jisoo." Jimin said as the Beta checked her computer and nodded.

"Ah, yes, Mr. Park, you are here for your first ultrasound, how exciting. Please, just double check all this information is correct – "The Beta said as she handed Jimin a clipboard, " – and once you are finished with it, just give it back to me. I have you all checked in and the doctor will be with you soon."

Jimin nodded as he grabbed a pen from the holder and offered a soft bow of gratitude. Jimin walked over to the far corner with Jungkook, he knew his mate liked to sit away from people if they could. Jimin could feel the curious eyes on them, so he was sure Jungkook was internally losing it. Jimin let Jungkook take the corner seat as he sat down right after, setting his bag in his lap as he crossed his legs and glanced at Jungkook. Just as he thought, his mate looked and felt anxious. His poor baby.

"Are you okay Guk?" Jimin asked, keeping his voice low. Jimin could feel Jungkook's leg bouncing as it brushed against his own every so often. Jimin scooted a little closer until he was pressed into Jungkook's space, using his scent to calm the Alpha. It seemed to work as Jungkook's leg slowly calmed down and he glanced at Jimin, chewing on his bottom lip.

"I – I'm fine." Jungkook said, but his voice sounded strained. Jimin truly appreciated that Jungkook wanted to be with him during this whole process, but the other still had a lot of social anxiety at times, especially in new or unfamiliar places and they had only been here once so far. Jimin leaned over, kissing Jungkook's cheek.

"It's okay baby, I'm here." Jimin said, nuzzling Jungkook's neck right after to scent him and calm him down. Jungkook seem to melt as he let out a soft whine. He then closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"...thank you." Jungkook whispered. Jimin giggled and kissed Jungkook's neck before he pulled back a little and then looked down at the clipboard, checking it over as Jungkook slowly started to relax. Letting one arm rest around Jimin's shoulders as his other fished for his phone out of his pocket and decided to play a game to distract himself. Jimin signed off on the sheet and shifted to hand Jungkook his bag.

"Be right back." Jimin said, standing as he walked towards the desk. Jungkook watched Jimin like a hawk, but he couldn't help letting his gaze shift to the other Alpha in the room. He was pleased at least that the other wasn't checking out Jimin like most Alphas he would catch. The other Alpha seemed focused on whatever the little Omega beside him was so animated about. Jungkook then glanced over at one of the Omegas by themselves and he noticed they seem to be staring at him. Jungkook tensed and quickly looked for Jimin. His eyes settled on his mate's back as he was at the desk chatting with the Beta. Jungkook swallowed, daring to glance back at the lone Omegas and one had returned their attention to their phone but the other was still staring. Jungkook noticed her rather large, rounded belly and then looked away.

Jungkook didn't find such a thing attractive on anyway else, but Jimin. In his own mind, he often imagined Jimin all plump and round with his pup and how sexy and attractive that would be. He couldn't wait honestly. It was then that a wave of Jimin's scent hit him and he glanced up to see the other walking back over and he sat up a little.

"Everything okay?" Jungkook asked. Jimin nodded and giggled.

"Yes, we got distracted with baby talk." Jimin said as he sat down and snuggled back up into Jungkook's space. Jungkook smiled, chancing a glance at the other Omega again, hoping she got the message and thankfully so. She wasn't staring anymore. Jungkook hated when people stared at him. It was then that the door to the back opened and the nurse called for Jimin. Jimin glanced up from his own phone and smiled before looking at Jungkook.

"My turn!" Jimin said, his voice full of excitement. Jungkook nodded, the two of them standing as they walked towards the Beta nurse as she smiled at them.

"Nice to see you both again!" The nurse said as Jimin bowed to her along with Jungkook, she returned the gesture.

"Thank you, we are excited to be here today." Jimin said as felt Jungkook grab his hand to hold it, glancing up at the slightly nervous Alpha. The nurse glanced at their hands and smiled fondly before looking forward.

"We are doing the first ultrasound today right?" The nurse asked, Jimin nodded as he squeezed Jungkook's hand.

"We are! Do you think we will be able to see anything?" Jimin asked, the nurse stopped at a scale as she turned to face them, hugging her clipboard.

"Hopefully! It is always a surprise to see how much of the little pup has developed in an expecting mother." The nurse said, Jimin handed his bag and sweater to Jungkook, moving to slip out of his boots as he stepped onto the scale. Wiggling his socked toes as he waited for the number. The nurse glanced at it and smiled at the number that came up.

"Perfect! You are gaining weight. Last time, we were a bit concerned about that." The nurse said as Jimin stepped down, slipping back into his boots as Jungkook glanced at the nurse.

"...he eats a lot now." Jungkook said. Jimin blushed before he lightly shoved Jungkook.

"G – Guk!" Jimin said, he scowled at the other and Jungkook gave an innocent blink, not sure what he said wrong. The nurse simply giggled as she led them to the room to wait for the doctor. It was such an exciting moment and Jimin couldn't wait to see what would show on the ultrasound.
