Jimin was nervous. A small part of him felt like this was a mistake.

It was too late to turn back now, but that didn't change his feelings. Jungkook was right. He needed to face this, face Yoongi's mother. If he didn't, he would never be free of the burden that his guilt. The heavy feeling that weighed on his heart would continue to get worse and the last thing Jimin wanted was to force this on Jungkook or their pup. Jimin sat in the small café, a mom-and-pop business, that Yoongi and himself used to frequent often. Yoongi had been a major coffee addict. He hadn't been back since Yoongi passed; his feelings mixed. The owners were surprised, but happy to see him again after so long. Jimin wasn't sure if they knew about Yoongi, but he regretted he couldn't come back with him. Jimin toyed with his fingers under the table nervously as he glanced over at the door each time it opened. It was about ten minutes past the time they agreed upon. Maybe she wasn't coming. Jimin looked down at his iced coffee, the droplets that formed on the outside of the plastic cup sliding down and smearing his name. What should he do if she doesn't come? Should that be it? Jimin closed his eyes, feeling a headache coming on, he slipped one of his arms from under the table and used his fingers to massage his temples as he leaned forward against the table a bit. A small part of Jimin wished that he'd let Jungkook come inside with him. But he felt it would be rude to show up to this with his mate, a reminder that Yoongi was gone.

"Jimin." A familiar voice called him, one that made his stomach knot up.

Jimin sat up, moving his hand as he turned his head, his gaze settled on her. Yoongi's mother. It had been a long time since he'd seen her in person. She seemed well, her appearance was sharp and kept as usual. Her expression serious, cold almost. Maybe that was just because she was looking at him though. Jimin moved to get up and properly greet her out of respect, but she raised a hand to stop him.

"Don't bother." Yoongi's mother spoke, moving to sit across from Jimin as he slumped back against the seat a little.

As she set her purse to the side, Jimin adjusted his posture and swallowed before parting his lips to speak.

"Feel free to order something." Jimin said, wishing his voice didn't come out so quiet.

"What did you call me here for?" Hyun – Jae asked curtly.

Jimin tensed before he looked down, a frown crossing his lips as he held his iced coffee in between his hands to try and calm himself down.

"To talk." Jimin answered.

"About?" Hyun – Jae asked, busying herself with the menu.

"About Yoongi." Jimin said.

Hyun – Jae stilled, her expression tense as she squeezed the menu, bending the plastic a little before she slowly lifted her gaze to Jimin who didn't dare to meet it.

"Why would I want to talk to you about my son?" Hyun – Jae asked.

"Because we need to. This has to end, this anger and resentment you project onto me. I want it to stop." Jimin said.

"Then bring my son back." Hyun – Jae said.

"You know I can't." Jimin said.

"Then neither can I." Hyun – Jae said, slamming the menu down and startling Jimin and a few of the other people seated around them.

Jimin lifted a pleading gaze toward her.

"Please, I want to move on with my life. I have a family and I don't want to have this burden weighing on my heart after all this time of carrying it!" Jimin said, his tone desperate.
