Y/N Pov :

2 weeks later

A lot of time has passed since you arrived at Woodbury. You discovered yesterday that you turned 11 two days ago. Honestly, everything was quiet in the area. No herds appeared in the area, except for some small ones that have been taken care of easily. Pretty much everyone in Woodbury knew you by now, when they learned that you saved Gabe's life. You didn't really had any occasions to really talk with the Governor, but you knew he was a busy man. Leading a whole town is probably time-eating.

You traded again some magazines to Sam the butcher. You were smart enough to keep a reserve and not trade them all at the same time. This time, you took 2 pack of beers (You couldn't really stop drink it, even when your father was getting in your mind.), some milk, bread, butter, water, appetizers, and some rabbit stew. As usual, you put the beers on the window's edge, the food in the kitchen, and went outside to see if there was anything useful you could do. You weren't really hanging with the Dr Stevens anymore, when you realized that him and his nurse Alice weren't exactly carrying the Governor in their hearts.

Instead, you helped with the armory inventory. Weapons, ammo, various supplies... or with guard duty or scavenging in the Walmart. Martinez was really nice with you, and showed you a few bare hands fighting tips. Gabe was way more cool and accepting towards you, since you saved his life. Bruce wasn't nice to you, but mostly tolerating you. The other kids in Woodbury were looking up to you as if you were a hero, considering you were the oldest of them. A boy, around 8 years old, even told you that when he'll grown up, he would like to be as strong and capable as you. You remembered blinking a few times at what he said, before moving away, embarrassed.

Now, you were walking in the Main Street. It was almost midday, and the sun and sky were pale, a few snowflakes flying in the cold wind. The only one who didn't seemed bothered by it was Martinez. Always taking his guard duty, and sometimes the ones from Bruce or Gabe. Everyone was at home, and the street was deserted from the usual residents. Your footsteps were echoing in the street, and you had that feeling of being observated by the windows. You arrived at the barricade, and as you expected, Martinez was up there, with his AK-47u.

- Hey, Marty !

Martinez sighed. You kept nicknaming him that way, and you knew that the only reason you weren't dead yet was because you were a kid.

- What ?

- Need some compagny ?

- Not really.

- Thank you.

You climbed the ladder, grabbed a M16, and sat next to martinez, on a crate.

- Have you seen anything yet ?

- Nope. Not even a single biter.

- Oh. Have you organized something for today ?

- Yeah. Me, Justin, Gabe, Haynes and Mark are going to the Walmart, as usual. You in ?

- You bet I am.

- Okay.

You stayed on guard duty for 2 hours, until Bruce, Speed and another blonde guy that everyone was calling Swede remplaced you. As usual, Bruce frowned when he saw you but didn't said anything. You handed them the M16, and you and Martinez went looking for the rest of your crew. You found them near the garage, smoking some weed from the nearby plantations.

- What the hell are you doing ?!

At the sight of Martinez, Haynes, a huge black guy, tossed the joint away. Martinez pinched the bridge of his nose, and told them to get ready. While they were filling a break and your old pick-up with gas and stuff, you ran home, grabbed your rifle, your bat, a few ammo, and ran back to the garage. You arrived just at time, panting. Martinez and the others smirked, slyly.
