Troy Miguel Caparas

It was a sunny day and a great day to start the first semester of this school year. I was about to go out of the house when mom called me.

"Troy dear, I and your father will be home late this evening, can you manage yourself until noon?" She said.

"Yes mom, no problem," I answered.

"You sure dear? I think I might call your Aunt Mina to accompany you, just so you know if you get-----"

"Mom please, it won't happen. I can manage myself, no need to disturb Aunt Mina just to accompany me." I uttered.

"Okay dear, just call me or your father if you need something." She added.

"Yeah sure, bye mom, tell dad I'm off to school." I quickly said and run to the door.

School is just near home, so there is no need for me to ride a school bus or anything . As I come to school, I quickly run to my room. I entered the room and eyes are all on me. I'm late.

"Are you one of this class?" the teacher asked.

"Yes Ma'am," I answered.

"Okay introduce yourself and take a seat after and copy the notes written on the board." She told me, so I immediately go in front of the class and start talking.

"Hey everyone. I'm Troy Miguel Caparas, I'm 18 years old. Please be nice to me." I said and quickly search for a seat.

Luckily there's one over there at the second to the last row, well it's okay. I sit on the chair and get my pen and notebook to start writing. I'm about to start writing when someone poked me. I look to my back and a boy is waving at me. I smiled at him.

"Hi, Troy! I'm Zachary Levy Somera, nice to meet you." He said while gesturing a handshake.

"Hi, Zachary Levy Somera, Nice to meet you too. "I said as I reach his hand and give him a handshake.

"No need to call me Zachary Levy Somera, just call me Zach. "He said smiling.

"Okay, Zach!" I said then I face the board and start writing.

Hours have passed and the bell rang. It's lunchtime! I want to go to the cafeteria I'm so hungry. I was about to leave the room when someone called me. "Troy!" Zach called me, so I turn my face to him.

"Uhm hey Zach? What's the matter?" I asked him.

"Uhm nothing, do you mind going to the cafeteria with me?" he asked.

"No, it's okay," I replied to him.

"Nice!" he said happily.

So, we headed to the cafeteria and start to fall in line and search for any available table, then we ate our lunch and headed back to the room.

For almost one hour I and Zach just talked to each other, knowing each personal stuff, and we asked questions about each other, of course, we exchanged our mobile numbers and followed each social media accounts.

Time flies so fast and it was time to go home. I fixed my things and called Zach. "Hey Zach, thanks for today, bye," I said.

"Okay, let me walk you until the gate." he said.

"Uhm okay." Then we headed to the main gate, we exchange goodbyes to each other and part our ways.

While walking on the pavements. I felt that my vision started to get blurry, I closed-open my eyes thinking that the blurring will be rid of that but it didn't. I feel like I was about to fall, so I stopped walking. I cleared my mind so that I may able to see things more clearly. I looked straight at the next lane and saw someone that I wish I didn't meet at all.
