ONCE UPON A TIME, IN A SPACESHIP FAR, FAR AWAY. . . Lyra Jupiter got into a little trouble. And, by a little, she means that someone ended up dead while she got thrown into the Skybox. Meanwhile, the Ark's Council unanimously voted to let the then fifteen year old girl rot in solitary until her eighteenth birthday, when she would end up dead, too. So. That's pretty much how life is going for her right now.
Or that's how life is supposed to be going, anyways.
Solitary turns into Earth Skills classes and Earth Skills classes turns into graduation and graduation turns into one hundred prisoners being sent to a radiation-soaked planet. Which isn't exactly ideal. Dying in a nuclear wasteland is so not how Lyra ever planned on going out.
But it isn't radiation that's Lyra's biggest problem, or even the psychological trauma spending five hundred and seventy-seven days in solitary gave her.
Because ground zero's got a lot of issues, from the chaotic criminals that just landed to the blood-thirsty warriors who've made the nuclear forests their homes, and happily ever after feels light years away. . .
