Losing someone dear to you always breaks a part of your soul. Suddenly you wish you could take it back, all the fights and petty arguments. You see, life has never been kind to me in that way. The constant reminder of death seems to be everywhere, and the looks of pity seem to be never-ending. It only seemed to get worse when I lost my brother, Achilles. He isn't dead, but I wouldn't say he is alive either. He has been missing for four agonizing months. Left no calls or texts or even a shred of a clue of where he could have gone. Leaving my family to fall apart in grief of the unknown.

"Do you ever pay attention, Nyx!" My other annoying brother Ajax yelled at me from the wheel. Gripping it till his knuckles turned white. Ajax is quite aggressive at times, but with Achilles gone, it's been getting worse every day. Not knowing things have made us all on edge all in various ways.

"I'm thinking," I responded rather flatly, still never taking my eyes off the window to look at him.

"You are always thinking, get your head out of the damn clouds for once." He sneered at me, rolling his eyes, leaving it at that. I lean back on my seat crossing my arms. Something must be bothering him today more than normal.

"Do you know what today is?" Ajax asked, a bit more calmly than before I finally turned my body toward him.

"How can I forget, it's been four months I know, Jax," I said, observing him to see what his reaction might be. You never can quite tell what he is thinking and for me, it's the most infuriating thing in the world. But lately, it's something that from now on I'd have to come to terms with. Not only from him, but from everything else.

"Are we still going to look out tonight?" He asked, his eyes gleamed hopeful, but didn't push the subject hard on me.

"I'm sorry but that's the dumbest question in the world, of course, we are."

I smiled slightly at him just as he parked the car, I shoved him playfully. Ajax gave me a look of relief, only to punch me on the arm rather hard. "You'll regret that!" I vowed, and with that Ajax ran out of the car.

"See you after, bye!" He called, leaving me to rub my arm in pain.

Spending my day in classes seemed like an overkill of my time lately. It wasn't the fact that I hated school or anything. I always love learning, it was the fact that today of all days I couldn't sit still. Nor could I think straight. My mind was only occupied with finding Achilles. Ajax and I have been searching for answers, but we ended up at a dead-end every time. Leaving our poor mother depressed and unsure what to do with herself. She hoped for the best but knew that something was off. Achilles is never the type of person to be irresponsible and not keep in contact. He is the golden boy of the bunch. He is the type of guy your parents would wish you bought home to meet them. Sometimes it annoyed me how amazing he is, the sad part of it all was that he was never faking it.

"You ready for the raid tonight," I heard someone whisper in my ear. My head turned to see who the voice belonged to, only to have my eyes bored into bright green ones twinkling with glee.

"Kieran, we are not robbing anything and you know it," I said, looking back at my work, trying hard to fight a grin.

"Sadly, I'm well aware of that thank you for reminding me. So sweets, are you done yet? So we can get out of here, I think the professor is trying to either kill me or rip my clothes off with his eyes." Kieran shuddered to himself, thinking about the possibility. Making me put a hand to my mouth to keep myself from laughing.

Kieran is a close family friend, I've known him since we were babies becoming friends instantly. I would consider him my best friend if anything, and practically my only friend. There was never a day that I didn't quite see him around. We never wanted to be apart, which is a common feeling that my brothers and I share about him. His personality is always uplifting to be around.
