I felt bad for Feyre's shoulder as my nails made indents into her skin from how tight I held onto her. She managed to teleport us or as she calls it 'winnow' over to the other side of the city. Yet I did not think that she had to fly us the rest of the way onto a roof with a large training ring in the middle of it. There were also targets in the right corner of the roof and a bright white ribbon hanging off a pole at the start of the endless targets.
This must be where Rhysand mentioned his brother Cassian trained females when he recommended me to him all those months ago. I wonder if they suffered the way that I do with Devlon. Considering how his brothers-in-arms tend to deal with things, it would not be a surprise if his treatment was the same or worse than Devlon's.
"If you hold on to me any tighter you might draw blood." Feyre hissed through her teeth as we descended to the floor right in the middle of the ring itself. I sheepishly smiled, loosening my grip on the Feyre as she placed me on the ground trying to hide my nervousness.
Ever since I was first placed here by Balthazar any type of flying made me slightly antsy. Hell, it was only my second time flying with someone that had wings. It was certainly not like flying on a plane, you were much more exposed than that.
Feyre seemed to sense this as she began rolling her shoulders as I stepped away from her. She didn't say much about my reaction only waved me over to follow as she turned towards spiral stairs into the house. Feyre rushed inside tightening her wings to her back and I could feel the anger that was bubbling slowly inside of her as I lingered behind. Following her through the crimson-colored halls that matched the color of the mountain the house resided on. I bet that was the only color Feyre managed to see as she navigated us into halls with endless doors. Then down another flight of stairs, just like her house, this place was also a maze. A ridiculously extravagant maze mainly decorated with warm tones and golden accents.
Feyre's pace started to quicken along with her rage as her purple-painted hand grabbed the knob of one of the doors on her left. Busting it open with a loud bang against the other side of the wall causing me to flinch. All Three males that are in the middle of the room looked up as they were surrounded a large rectangular black table in front had a fire that was going. As I took a step inside the room I noted Rhys and Azriel on the right side of the table, and another largely built Illyrian male on the left with his arms crossed.
I focused more on the male on the left trying my best to ignore those on the right. Noticed the red gems on his body were similar to Azriel's blue ones. It also seemed like he had seven in total as well on each arm, shoulder, and knee, and one in the middle of his broad chest. All the males were silent at our arrival any prior conversations were dropped immediately. Making me, feel like I tattle-taled to their mother who is about to rain hell upon them for lying.
"Great, all of you are here." Feyre hummed, in a certain calmness that almost reminded me of Rhysand's voice under the mountain. I stayed a few feet behind her unsure of where this conversation might go.
"The rumored Queen of Nightmares blessed my steps at the River house tonight. Stating that she has no control over her powers and needed help." Feyre gestured behind her to me and suddenly the pattern on the floor looked very appealing. "She also mentioned that Rhys knew all about it. Was he the only one?"
No one spoke or moved everyone was at a standstill. Which in turn made Feyre absolutely feral in response to their silence.
"Azriel" Feyre spit out, turning her body towards the shadow singer. "I find it very hard to believe that you knew nothing of this. So I will give you this chance, considering my own mate is unreliable when it comes to telling me anything that happens in this court."
