"Think She'd Go Out With Me?"

---

I was back home, opening the door sat my mom on the couch.

"Mom, sorry I'm late I was playing baseball with some kids down at the sandlot"

"baseball?"

"Mhm, the kids say I'm pretty good and Benny he-" my mom cut me off.

"Honey, your father he- he loved baseball, in fact it was the only thing he wanted you to do" she started stuttering, "I'm glad you like it sweetheart."

"Thank you mom..." I smiled

"Now go back and play, be back by dinner."

---

Benny's POV:

When will she be back? I thought.

"Benny when's the girl coming back?" Ham shouted.

"I have no idea but I guess we'll fine out when she gets here"

A few minutes later of drinking water and batting practice I heard a small voice.

"Hey guys I'm back," Amber waved at me and smiled jogging back to the sandlot.

"Hi," I smiled at her. She smiled back, her smile was beautiful unlike anything I've ever seen. I've barely even gotten known her and she absolutely amazing.

"Are you okay," She chuckled.

"Hm, Oh yea I just spaced out." She laughed," Wanna get back to the game?"

She nodded in response, everyone took position. I was pitching this inning, up on the pitching mound I stared at Smalls. He was looking at the ball as he concentrated. I threw the ball letting it roll out of my hands.

WHACK

Smalls hit the ball. It didn't go far but he hit it...

"RUN SMALLS!" he looked around almost confused. Dropping the bat he ran to first.

"Nice hit" I yelled from the mound to Smalls. He nodded in response, "Next batter!"

This time Timmy was batting, this should be fun. Again, I rolled the ball through my hands and away it went, he hit the ball and the play started.

The ball was flying, this was his best hit yet! Amber was in the outfield going after the ball, her mit up in the air as she kept the eye on the ball.

The ball safely landed in her glove, "I caught it!" She waved the mit in the air with the ball.

"Timmy you heard her she caught your fly ball, your out"

"Screw you, Amber..." Timmy walked off huffing.

I looked back at Amber, "Nice Catch Amber," I smiled.

She nodded with a smile and threw the ball back. Continuing Bertram came up, he hit the ball and we got him out. No surprise there.

The inning was over, now our team was up. Everybody hit the ball and we got ten runs easy-peesy.

The game was over, me and Amber were in the dugout together.

"Here's your mit back," she handed me my mit.

"Keep it, along with the ball. If your living here you might aswell have your own bag of baseball stuff, right?"

"Yeah, you are right, "she smiled," Hey do you wanna have dinner with me and my mom, I'm sure she'll love your company" She said placing the mit by her side.

"Yeah, I wouldn't mind I'll have to check with my mom real quick but my mom always wants me out of the house"

She giggled, man how pretty her laugh was..."Your spacing out again, "she waved her hand up to my face.

"Oh am I?" I felt my face get red. We both laughed and headed out of the sandlot.

We both walked through the park talking about her old life in Pecksburg, it was extremely different then it is here. She told me the people were different, they expressed themselves how they wanted to Express them selves and everyone there was happy and content.

She told me that the people here aren't the most welcoming or the fact she only knows me... I'm glad I got to meet Amber she's amazing, and beautiful...
