She stared at Hermione.

"You what?" she croaked in disbelief.

"I know who it is, we were going about it completely wrong" She looked around the corner then scanned the room again before walking over to Constance and dropping her books onto Constance's bead.

She froze and stared at Hermione, she'd figured it out she could stop this now no matter what anyone said she'd go kill them herself.

Hermione opened a book and placed it on her lap.

"We went about it wrong, we assumed it was someone who was--who was there or someone who was convicted of crimes but it wasn't it isn't" Hermione's eyes sparkled as she started to pour her discovery into Constance.

"When you started telling me about the dreams and revenge something shifted" Hermione flicked through the book then stopped at a page slamming her palm into it making an audible clap.

"And then it clicked."

She looked over to Hermione then down to the book then back up to Hermione almost begging her for information with her eyes.

"I started going over the timeline we made in my head and what someone would possibly want revenge in then it clicked, you--you killed someone that night" Hermione turned to her hesitantly and she stared back, who did she kill? how would they seek revenge if they were dead? who was seeking revenge for them? where they related? Her head swarmed with questions and she thought she might possibly drown in them as they lapped at her mouth trying to slip through her tightly pressed lips.

She watched Hermione hesitate and look at the book.

"Who did I kill Hermione?" she said blankly trying to hide all the emotion not wanting to make her feel bad or guilty in any way.

Hermione looked at her tentatively before her hand left the pages on the book and pushed it forward for Constance to see, it was a book on old pureblood families and their family history and heritages.

"You-you killed Goyle Sr."

She froze and it dawned on her, it had to have been a member of the student body the whole time, the amount of information they knew about her, they were somehow available to her locket and personal pictures and the fact that he even knew she had twin cousins. Someone had to be watching her closely within.

She looked up at Hermione and gulped trying to get rid of her dry closing throat, Hermione slowly nodded tracing a finger over the library book.

"Greggory Goyle '' Constance said quietly spelling out almost every syllable it was almost impossible he was so quiet, didn't obtain high amounts of power, he was still in school and he'd even apologised to her. But yet everything clicked into place, the strange ways he interacted with her, the spontaneous things he would say, the lingering stairs, the dirty looks, the awkward possibly forced apology. It all perfectly aligned and completed the puzzle with Greggory Goyle's face right in the middle.

"You killed his father, he adored his father it had to be him, and all the information it just leads back to him" Hermione looked down at her like she expected Constance to cry or crumble apart in front of her but she'd already trampled on those emotions she was going to capture him, possibly kill him if she had too. She would do it even if she died in the process then lives would be spared it just made sense she had to walk right into his world.

"You're sure?" she asked Hermione but she already knew the answer to the question.

"It's the only possible person," Hermione nodded, closing the book and setting it aside.
