"I've never seen this passage before" Hermione muttered as the two stared down into the darkness.

"Fred showed it to me, something felt off about it before" she forced her voice not to waver as she studied the stone steps that melted away into the darkness.

She shifted her feet and hesitantly stepped on the first step, she'd been there before but this time it felt so different the air seemed thicker, it looked even darker and the silence was deathly.

She turned around and looked at Hermione, she gave her a wary nod and started descending down the stairs.

Her shoes clicked against the stone and after a few seconds she could hear Hermione's too, they slowly started to submerge into the darkness. She pulled out her wand and lit a dim light so she could see in front of her.

She stepped down and into the corridor and it seemed even colder than before, yet everything was so still the air was heavy but it just stayed there and hung over their heads like it had been frozen in time.

"Which room?" Hermione whispered from behind her.

She fidgeted with her wand nervously and looked down the hallways both as dark as the other she studied the doors she could see and most seemed to be locked. She hadn't remembered them being locked before--

He was guiding them.

She nodded down the hallway and started walking, they walked down the hallway in silence the only noise coming from their shoes.

As they walked down the corridor it grew colder and colder she could've sworn there was a thin layer of mist floating around her feet tickling her ankles until her stomach twisted into tight knotts.

"Do you know where we are going?" Hermione whispered from behind her.

Constance froze and turned to face a door, it was the only unlocked door she'd seen through the whole corridor, she peered over to the door beside it, locked. She shuffled on her feet and studied the door he was in there, the room was giving off a smell even from behind the closed door the smell identical to the one in her dreams like poison coiling up and around her nostrils.

"Please go back" she turned to Hermione and pleaded with her eyes, she didn't want her to get involved anymore than she already was.

Hermione crossed her arms and shook her head.

"You're not going in alone."

"I'll be fine, please just go" she traced the grooves along her wand and prayed that Hermione would take her orders and leave.

"I'm here at my own will, I'm not leaving" she squared her shoulders and stared at Constance. That was her final decision.

She closed her eyes firmly then opened them again looking at Hermione seriously.

"If he casts one unforgivable or dark curse you are leaving with or without me" Hermione fidgeted silently then gave a slow nod.

"Good" she lowered her voice as she turned back to the door, she lifted her hand which was already shaking and placed it on the door knob. She almost yanked her hand away as a chill ran up her arm and right down her spine, The silver door knob felt like dry ice.

Her fingers grew stiff as she forced herself to slowly turn the knob, she suddenly felt overwhelmingly nauseous as she fully clicked the knob open, she turned back to look at Hermione who gave her a small nod wand at the ready. She went over a series of spells in her head as she slowly opened the door.
