A middle-aged man with gentle complexion had read this quote once when he was scrolling through the internet. He looked outside his window, watching a beautiful woman playing with bunch of children. He found it odd that he feels like the passage was related to him. But he couldn’t find the reason why he thinks like that.
Everything around him was full of colors, everything was vibrant and alive. He smiled softly, waving to the children. The man went to the female’s direction to kiss her on the lips. But strangely, he just somehow pecked her on her lips.
He tilted his head sideways, he didn’t understand why he can’t kiss her on the lips. Isn’t she supposed to be his wife? Why did she not like it when he tried to kiss her? He felt that something is wrong but he decided to brushed off these thoughts.
There was a time where his vision on his surroundings is blurry. His brain was hurting a lot. He didn’t clearly remember what happened on his memory. The only thing that he saw within his mind was cherry blossoms and some red substance which colored everything in red. “What happened?” A young woman who wore a clean, white outfit asked him. “Ah, no. It’s nothing.” He replied smiling softly.
He spent his whole day inside his room but sometimes he would go outside to play with the children. He felt happy whenever he played with them. It was like an upbeat joyful music surrounds his whole body. “A pleasant feeling.” He thought. He continued having those feelings for two months. The colorful days slowly becoming dull without him realizing it. He would always ask for people’s name because he tend to forget it all the time. Everyone would just look at him with sad eyes. “It’s alright.” They replied.
The music starting to skip some beat and miss some notes. He wondered why he is even there. He didn’t know why he is inside a building where it is all white. But there was no one who would answer him at that time.
Everything started to become dark. He can’t remember what he had done that day. He even peed on himself because he didn’t know where the bathroom is. Tears were flowing from his eyes. “Why can’t I remember anything?”
The song playing on his mind became gloomy. He placed his hands at top of his head, gently caressing it. He wondered why it was covered with clean bandages. He was not wounded, he felt fine. “Did I fell down the stairs or something?”
His vision and mind became distorted, it was all muddled up. It was so dark, he can’t see. The song was so incomprehensible, he can’t think. He wanted to think of something but he can’t. He tried to remember anything but nothing came onto his mind. “Who am I?”
He stared on a blank space, looking to the void. He cried unconsciously, his mind and heart felt numb. He forgot how to feel anymore. He didn’t know what he should feel. He forgot everything.
The day finally came, where everything he wanted to ask was going to be answered. A young lady went inside his room. It was so quiet.
There was him, lying down on his bed, he looked like he was having a solemn dream. She went to hold his hands but she touched him, he was so cold.
“Dad?” She whispered, crying silently. “No, please don’t leave me too…” She begged, holding onto his body. “I’m sorry for being late…” She said, wishing for him to response.
The doctor went inside the room. He checked his condition only to announced him to be dead. The middle-aged man died on his sleep.
Everything became quiet, there’s no color anymore. Just pure white all over him. He didn’t get to know what happened. He forgotten everything.

A young lady carrying bouquet of flowers is now in front of a tombstone. She arranged the flowers beside the tombstone while placing some candles in front of it.
“Hey, dad. I know you have a lot of questions that you wanted to be answered before you passed away.” She caressed the letters that was engraved onto it. “First, you and mom got into an accident. You were the only one who survived but you’ve got a heavy blow on your head, causing you to lose your memories…” She said while looking up to the sky. “You even mistaken Auntie as your wife.”
“I’m so sorry, Dad. For not being with you the entire time. I needed to find a part-time job for my siblings … I wanted to be with you and take care of you, but my little brother and sister needed me as well.”
“You've taught me everything that I should know. But you've forgotten to teach me how to live without you.” She cried.
