you felt like your heart stopped. a sudden hint of fear involuntarily stung your chest.

'w-what?' you stuttered.

Taehyung slightly nodded, seeming to except your reaction.

'yeah. they have no evidence, but apparently all their resources lead to the same suspect, me.' he replied, mockingly pointing at himself at the end of his sentence.

Taehyung seemingly looked bored as he spoke.

'how long are you sentenced for?!'

'for life. i'll get executed in 2 years.'

you felt like your blood stopped circulating.

'how the fuck are you saying this without an ounce of fear?' you genuinely asked.

he simply shrugged.

'because i know i'll be out of here soon '

'and how so?'

he looked at you for a while.

'doesn't matter.'

your conversation was interrupted by a police guard's footsteps approaching the both of you.

he stopped in front of the cell, before fumbling in his pocket. he took out a bunch of keys and unlocked your cell with one of them, before opening the door wide open.

'dinner's in the cafeteria.' he announced.

'forget it, Bogum.' Taehyung scoffed.

what? these two know each other?

Bogum sighed in clear annoyance.

'you've been eating here since you came. why can't you eat in the cafeteria like the rest of them at least once—'

his sense was interrupted by Taehyung standing up and loudly slamming the door back into Bogum's face.

'because i don't fucking want to.' he spoke.

his threatening tone almost sent shivers along your body.

Bogum scoffed.

he seemed like he knew that if he responded, things won't end up good.

and due to that reason, he walked awag from the cell.

silence feel upon you both.

'but what if i wanted to eat in the cafeteria?' you said, a hint of humor in your tone.

Taehyung noticed this, he gave you a barely visible grin.

'trust me, it isn't called cafeteria. it's called the national fucking zoo.'
