the next day

this morning, you didn't wake up to Taehyung gently shaking you awake or using any other of his obnoxious paths.

instead, you woke up to furious shouting coming from near your cell.

you let out a groan of raw frustration before slowly positioning yourself in an upright position on your bed.

'Tae, what are you so loud for...'

your circulation froze.

gone.

Taehyung's bed was empty and spotless.

you had to remind yourself how to breathe upon looking at the empty space in astonishment for what seemed like a couple minutes.

you felt a sharp stinging in your eyes as you forced yourself to your feet.

you were shaking.

so much to the point where you feel like you were about to collapse into darkness.

you focused a little bit to understand the shouting from outside.

'Kim Taehyung, murderer of 14 victims. completely vanished from his cell.'

you felt dizzy. light-headed.

you were forced to sit on the nearest thing next to you, that being Taehyung's bed.

you quickly noticed a small, but noticeable piece of paper on his pillow.

your trembling hands picked it up and slowly unfolded the piece of paper.

you expected some sort of note with near handwriting explaining Taehyung's sudden absence. but instead, you were met with messy and clearly rushed handwriting.

writing like Taehyung's but as if it was written in milliseconds.

'I never wanted to leave. I'll come back for you.'

you didn't know how to feel. the only thing you recognized was the numb sensation that vibrated in your fingertips.

should you feel happy?
happy that he, as he said, is going to come back for you?

should you feel angry?
angry thaf he, the guy who promised to never leave, left without you by his side?

should you feel sad?
sad that he, the guy who allegedly never lies, decided to flee from thid prison as if you meant nothing?

he kissed you for goodness sake.

he kissed you with the most emotions you ever felt, and a day later,

he disappears.

but what does it mean? the note?

is Taehyung forced to do this? what if he never wanted to leave?

was he kidnapped? was he raken away against his own will?

is he safe?

is Taehyung safe?

your eyes burned, spillung the tears that were fighting to escape as you battled the two possibilities of the questions you just asked.

either he is safe and he will come back for you, or he isn't and you couldn't do anything about it.

you couldn't do anything than just sitting in this room, with metal bars restraining you from any sort of escape.

you held back your choking sobs as the lump in your throat grew more by the second.

burying your head in the palms of your hands, it took everything in you to calm your senses for the slightest second.

the question that constantly circulated your mind the most was how?

how did he escape untouched and unnoticed?

did he not think about you once? thinking about your gullible, sleeping figure before he slipped out of the prison cell for the last time?

your mind quickly travelled back to the first time you met him and the words he said that have stuck to your mind ever since.

'how the fuck are you saying all this without an ounce of fear?' you genuinely asked.

he simply shrugged.

'because i know i'll be out of here soon.'

and he was right.

after all this time, he was right.
