I don't think about social suicide or death a lot, but today I have thought of 7 ways that I would die. A) being my mom's getting remarried. And before you ask, no, I didn't know about it. In fact, I just found out about it 5 minutes ago. I've always had a normal life, normal school, normal grades, and normal boyfriends(ish). So, when she told me she was getting married again without my knowledge she was even seeing anyone, shocked me. And yes this actually happened, so If I start living under a rock you know why.

"Do you even know who the lucky man is? Maybe you'll have a hot stepbrother," Casey asks winking at step-brother.

It's a Friday night and we're painting our nails in the basement. She's sleeping over. We have the flatscreen Tv on and Gossip Girl is playing.

"First off gross, second is no, that's the thing. How could she spring something this big onto me?" I tell Casey.

"Onto us," Casey's always there for me. She knows how to make me feel better, I guess she's sort of a part of my family. We're just that close.

"I just don't get it, she's never been like this, she always had a plan!" I say dipping the red polish back into the bottle for a refill on the brush.

"Maybe she does have a plan. You just don't know about it," Casey suggests.

I think she's tryingand help, and I appreciate that but this just isn't like my mom. In the past month, I've noticed changes. Coming home late, asking me to do favors for her, looking nicer. Damn it. I should've seen the signs, she was seeing someone.

"I don't know Casey, she seems different, distant," I swallow.

Finishing my right hand I hand the bottle back to Casey. She then hands me the white to start on my toes.

"Look Liv, maybe he isn't the right person for her," She replies. I nod to her comment.

"Well I guess we'll find out tomorrow," I add after a moment of silence.

"We?" Casey asks. Mom didn't exactly invite her, but I can't meet my new father alone.

"YES! You're coming, you have to!". I know Casey will agree and decide to come with me.

I've always been good at convincing her. She can never say no to me, I think that's one of my good qualities. Persuasion.

"Fine, but only if we go shopping together andeally cute," Casey slowly says.

She loves spending money, but I mean she can like she has a lot. And I guess I do too. We live in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods on the east side. I never really liked to talk about money. My family didn't work hard to get it. It funds through my grandparents on my dad's side of the family. Now even more often now that he's gone. I don't like to talk about that either, my dad.

"Deal," I smile at Casey. Turning back to the tv I see that Nate Archibald comes on the screen. I laugh knowing that we're both thinking the same thing. Why can't boys on the east side look like that?

After finishing a couple more episodes of Gossip Girl, I turn on my phone seeing it's 1 am.

"Shit it's so late," I whisper.

"Didn't your mom say lights off by 12," Casey mumbles, she's already lying down.on the couch?

Feeling my eye sockets ache I can tell I'm exhausted. My phone buzzes and I quickly look at the Snapchat notification. It's from Leo. I debate whether to open it or not. I decide not to, best to leave them wanting more I guess.
