The Mysterious Planet

Red as Blood

 I awoke to a pounding headache and a feeling of disorientation and grogginess

The first thing I heard was my father next to me "WE MADE IT". Then another announcement came on, "we have landed on a new planet our team has named Ognoria. We will escort you off the ship and keep you in a holding area while we send scouts out to scour the area.". Two stone-faced attendants walked up to us. They led us back down the long flight of stairs and took us inside a large tent which I'm assuming they put up while we were all waking up. Inside the tent they gave us food, water, sleeping bags, and a small tent. Then they led us to a small area in the corner of the tent. We waited for what seemed like forever then we were led out to a small patch of land. We were instructed to set up our tent and get settled. I heard the pounding of feet running towards the camp. "We found Water... well maybe."

"We found this red liquid that looks like water but we cant be sure", said one of the

scouts. Our leader, Dr. Mahal instructed the scouts to go and get some of the red liquid and bring it back to camp. When the liquid arrived he had one of the volunteers try the liquid. Nothing seemed to happen right away. "I feel fine and it tastes normal," the volunteer said. Then everyone started drinking the water including my father. But I was still hesitant. I looked around and only saw one other person who wasn't drinking. He was a tall sandy haired boy who looked to be about my age, maybe a year or two older. I walked over to him. "Why arent you drinking the liquid?", i asked.

"I'm not sure i trust it yet"

"Why not", I was confused even though i felt the same way.

"I just dont ok?" he responded with a small smile.

I started to feel a twinge of guilt. Obviously he would want to talk to me. I had just met him.
"What's your name?"

"Connor, and now you need to tell me yours"

"Vivian" I was a tad bit confused why he was so afraid to answer the simple question.

Just then the scout who had drankin the water first collapsed to the ground.
