"Guys, is this really necessary?" I said as Kaykay was yanking my hair, trying to put in in a crown braid.

"Of course, you have to look perfect for your first date."

"Um, this isn't my first date."

"With Niall it is."

Crystal, Kaykay, and everyone else was making this a much bigger deal than it needed to be. All of them commented stuff like

"Omg, my baby is growing up."

The doorbell echoed throughout the house, making Kaykay and Crystal squeal.

Thank you for blowing out my ear drums.

Calum beat me to the door, staring Niall down with an "intimidating" look.

"What is your intention with my daughter?" He asked, making me roll my eyes.

"Calum, stop. We're leaving. Love you guys," I kissed each of their cheeks.

"You better have her back by seven!" Calum called after us.

"Um, it's 6:59 right now."

We got into the car, the radio playing some kind of ridiculous rap song.

"Ugh, this is disgusting," I mumbled, grabbing the aux and plugging it in.

We were listening to Ariana Grande and Little Mix.

"You look gorgeous," Niall practically whispered as we went onto the interstate.

"You look handsome," I smiled, using the same whispering voice.

Everything was going great.

Well, until It happened.

Niall and I noticed that one of the really big trucks were swerving.

"Um, what are they doing?"

Niall went into the other lane. I could see the drivers' face, and I immediately froze.

That driver was my Dad.

And he was drunk.

"Niall, that's my Dad. He's drunk driving!" I said, panic overflowing.

We tried to go into the third lane, until the collision happened.

I could feel the weight of the big trailer attached to the front of the truck.

And I also felt nothing but sheer pain.

I saw Niall make his way out of the car. As for me, I couldn't move.

Or breath.

"Oh my goodness, someone call an ambulance!" I heard him yell as he tried to get me out of the car. The truck was blocking my door.

"Hallie, everything's going to be okay," he said.

Luckily, we were able to open a window, Niall helping me crawl out.

"Niall," I cried in pure pain.

My heart was pounding.

All I felt was pain.

"It's okay sweetheart, just breathe," He checked my pulse.

"The ambulance isn't going to be able to come for another five minutes."

"Well Hallie needs help now."

He was able to get his doctors' bag out of the car, checking my vitals and calling Calum.

"Calum, she's conscious right now, but I don't know what to do."

"Am I on speaker phone?" Calum asked.

"Yeah."

"Hallie, can you hear me?" I groaned.

"Can you show Niall what hurts the most?"

I pointed to my back and head.

"She's pointing to her back and head. I'm thinking that there's spinal injuries."

The ambulance came, Niall riding with us.

I got wheeled into the hospital, seeing the boys spring into action.

That's all I saw before darkness.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Niall's POV

As if we couldn't get a break, Hallie had a fractured pelvis, broken leg, and extreme bruising. I couldn't imagine the pain that Hallie was in.

The fact that she didn't even go to sleep after was really shocking.

Tears ran down my face as I sat in the waiting room.

This was all my fault.

I can't seem to do anything right.

We were going to have our first date.

Tonight was going to be the best night.

But instead, it was the worst night.

Calum walked out of the room with a smile.

"She's awake, and asking for you."

"I'm so sorry, I should've payed attention."

"Niall, it was nothing you did. Hallie's under a pretty loopy state, so she mentioned the fact that her father was drunk driving the truck. We'll deal with him when the time comes. If anything, you saved Hallie."

I followed him into the hospital room, seeing Hallie cuddled up in blankets, a loopy smile on her face.

"Niall, come lay with me."

"I don't want to hurt you."

"Niall James Horan, come lay with me right now. I don't care if you hurt me or not."

"How did you know my middle name?"

"Harry told me," I saw Harry standing there, lightly chuckling.

"What do you want to eat, Hallie?"

"I'm not hungry," She whined.

"Oh c'mon, I thought you loved food."

"I'm in too much pain to love food right now."

"If I eat with you, then will you eat something?"

"We should have a hospital date. Y'know, since we didn't get to have our actual date," Hallie said, an excited look on her face.

"Okay."

"You're so hot," She whispered, trying to be discrete.

She wasn't discrete at all, whispering for the whole room to hear.

The others snickered.

"Okay, well we'll bring your food in a minute," Ashton said.

Throughout the night, we talked about random stuff, watched movies, ate snacks.

This certainly wasn't a normal night.

But it was the best night ever.
