Noctis
A few weeks ago, we got back from the rogue camp. It ended up taking about a week to get back since we didn't shift. The platoon has been asking about what happened back at the rogue camp and I have finally decided to tell them today. Once we got back to the Red Flame Pack, we went to find the rogues again; however, they disappeared. Alpha Quinton hasn't been able to get in contact with his spy since we left the rogue camp and I don't know what to make of that. Why would his spy go a-wall all of a sudden?
I am currently making my way to the conference room that I came to the first day I met the Red Flame Pack. This pack has been nice enough to let my platoon and I stay in their territory for the time being. I open the door to the room and six pairs of eyes look at me intently. I take a deep breath and stand at the head of the table to tell them my story. Well, part of it.
"Okay, let's do this in a question answer sort of fashion. Who's first?" I ask.
"Why did you say the rogues wanted you?" Kai questions.
"They wanted me because I am the white wolf they are hunting for," everyone in the room gasps and stares at me with wide eyes.
I wait for someone to talk and it takes about a minute before Quinton snaps out of his trance, "Do you know why they want you taken down out of all the white wolves in the world?"
"Because I am immune to silver and my blood has silver in it."
Another wave of silence washes over the room. I tap my foot impatiently as I wait for them to take in the information.
"How? I mean...how are you alive?" Dax wonders.
"The explosion I was in almost two years ago, it was a silver bomb. I have a piece of silver lodged in my rib and leg. I read a book...well a friend read a book from the Royal Pack for me. It said that I put other's lives ahead of my own and then I should have died in that explosion, but I didn't."
"So that is how the silver chains didn't bother you," Dax puts together.
"Exactly. Anything else?" I ask.
Josh, Quinton's Beta, speaks up, "Is it true what the rogues are saying? You are the princess?"
I sigh, "Technically....yes." Annnd everyone's jaws dropped halfway to hell, "I am taking a break from that life though, hence the different name. When I go back, I will probably keep this name since I have gotten so used to it though," I think aloud.
"Do you know why Alpha Riggs hasn't passed down his title to your brother, Luke, yet?" Luna Blair asks.
"I do, but he doesn't want word getting out right now. You will know when the time is right," I tell them.
They reluctantly nod their heads, still wanting more information, but they aren't pushing. We dismiss ourselves and then head to our rooms to get ready for training. I put on spandex shorts, a gymshark sports bra and my Nike running shoes. I throw my straight hair up into a high ponytail before heading out to the backyard where training takes place. I see Kai, Silas, and Dax talking quietly amongst themselves, waiting for training to begin. I walk over to them and they turn to face me.
"Look, I'm sorry for not telling you guys sooner and I understand if you are all mad at me and..."
Silas cuts me off, "We aren't upset Noctis, we all understand why you kept this a secret. Don't worry about it," he smiles and the other two nod their heads in agreement.
Josh walks out of the house and starts telling us what the plan is for training today. We start off with a run around the territory. Dax and I come out on top for obvious reasons and Silas and Kai aren't far behind. We get right into sparing after that. The first week of us being here, my platoon and I kept being challenged because the pack members thought they were better fighters. We put them in their place.
I fight with Dax since he is the closest to my skill set besides Quinton. I get in my fighter's stance and Dax does the same. In our fights, nothing is off the table except the Final Blow. Dax attacks first, throwing a punch at my gut. I jump back and he takes the opportunity, with the help of his vamp speed, to punch my jaw. I recollect myself quickly and fake a punch going for him and instead kick his legs out from beneath him. Dax falls back to the ground and I put a knee to his chest. He seems to be pinned, but then Dax does something unexpected.
Dax head butts me which gives him enough slack to turn us over and for him to pin me down. I can feel some blood under my nose and I smirk. I wipe it off with my hand and then grab Dax's arm. He holds onto me for as long as he can before groaning in pain and letting go. I kick him where the sun don't shine and then straddle him on the ground. I put my arm across his throat and my hand at his chest, ready to remove his heart.
Dax sighs and double taps my arms, giving up. I stand up off of of him and hold out a hand to help him up. He takes it and we fist bump. I walk over to the back door, heading to the kitchen to grab a water bottle. I open the fridge and grab a plastic water bottle out, unscrewing the cap and downing half of it.
"Good job out there today, Noctis," Josh compliments as he grabs a water bottle.
"Thanks Josh. Have you heard anything back from your spy yet?" I wonder.
He looks down to his feet, "No, we haven't. I don't know what happened. We were best friends and grew up together. I don't know why he would go silent without an explanation."
"Sorry to hear that Josh. Hopefully he comes to his senses soon."
"Thanks Noctis. Do you know when you have to head back to the military base?"
"Probably when we hear word of rogues attacking soldiers again. We will have to go where the fight is."
"Well, I will be sad to see you leave," Josh comments.
"I think I will miss this place as well. Especially all of the sexy accents," I smirk.
"Oh honey, you are the one with the sexy accent around here," Josh winks playfully.
I laugh and shake my head at his silliness. "We should get back out there before people start slacking off," I tell Josh. He nods and we walk back out to the training field.
After helping Josh correct techniques of other wolves, Josh suggests we do a fight together. I haven't actually had a chance to fight him yet. He is usually helping other wolves.
"I will go easy on you," I tell Josh.
"Shouldn't I be telling you that?" Josh asks.
"Oh no Joshey boy, you will learn very soon that I will be going easy on you."
We get into a fighting stance and circle each other, studying the other's movements. Josh sends a punch to my jaw and I duck, sending a punch to his gut with half of my strength. He makes the satisfying 'umph' sound before collecting himself again. He tries to tackle me and I grab his arm, flipping him onto his back. I keep holding onto his arm and I roll him over to his stomach with his arm bent behind his back. I kneel on the small of back and wait for him to try to get out of this.
I feel his nails nails elongate into my wrist. Bad move Josh. He starts whining before he grunts and struggles beneath me. I get up off of him and get back into my fighting stance. He looks up to me and smirks. I see his foot coming a mile away, but I let him take me down anyway. It makes it more fun when I defeat him. I land on my back and he crawls on top of me with his knees on my wrists, smart move. His wrong move is how high up he is in my waist, my torso and legs are fully functioning. He holds his claws to my throat and I roll my eyes with a smirk. As I am about to throw him off of me, a low, threatening growl comes from behind me.
I see Josh on guard as he looks up towards the sound. He features then turn soft and he looks confused. I still can't see what he is looking at, but Josh isn't making any move to get off of me. I lift my legs so my feet grab Josh's head and I throw him down so I can get up from the ground. Once standing, I offer Josh a hand, which he takes with a shocked expression. I smile at him and he fist bumps me.
Another growl emits from behind me as I forgot the reason I wanted to get up. I turn to see a man standing there. He is six foot two with black hair and grey eyes. What the fuck is he doing here?
"Mate," he breathes out.
