Finding Noctis

Ash

I have been staying in the town just outside of the Royal Pack territory, hoping that Noctis will come find me soon. My phone rings and my hopes rise before I see that it is an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"Is this Ash Riverton?" A man asks.

"Yes?"

"I am Alpha Riggs from the Royal Pack and I believe that you are my daughters second chance mate."

"I am Alpha. Can I come see her?"

"Oh, I thought she would have went to you. Shit," he whispers.

"What is it?" I eagerly ask.

"Listen Ash, I need you to go find Noctis. She left our pack because apparently my family are not who I thought they were. I have no clue where she went but she was really upset and she thinks you are going to reject her."

Why would I ever do that? "I will find her Alpha. Don't worry. Do you know where she would have gone?"

"I'm sorry Ash, but I haven't had a proper conversation with my daughter in over 3 years."

"Okay, I will start my search now," I tell him.

"Thank you Ash. Please keep me updated."

He hangs up and I quickly pack my bag. I dig deep within myself and feel where I should go. I open my eyes and follow my heart as I go to find my mate. I leave most of my stuff in my car and just take a duffel bag that I can carry in my mouth. I shift once in the woods into my Grey wolf and run off.

A few hours later I shift back and head into town where I look for a place to stay. I find a hotel and book a room for the night. I drop off my bag and then head off to eat something. I stop by a diner and head inside to sit at a booth. I order a chicken club with fries.

After eating I being walking back to the hotel when I sense someone behind me. I turn a corner and wait for the person to come into view. A girl turns the corner and looks at me with wide eyes. She has light blonde hair with gorgeous brown eyes and small pink lips. Wait, what am I thinking? I have a mate.

"Why are you following me?" I ask in a harsh tone and she has tears fill her eyes.

"But..." she can't seem to form the words.

"What?" I ask.

"But y-you a-are my m-mate," she stutters as tears run down her face.

"That isn't possible, I have a mate already."

"What? How can that be?" She asks me.

"I'm sorry, but I should go."

"Please don't. I don't want to be rejected again," she pleads.

Shit, I am her second chance. How is this possible? I hear a loud ringing in my ears that cause me to fall to my knees and hold the sides of my head.

Reject Noctis, Ash, a woman tells me.

Who are you?

The Moon Goddess. You must reject Noctis, the Moon Goddess tells me.

Why?

There is no answer. Why would the Moon Goddess tell me to reject Noctis? What has Noctis done to deserve this?

"What's wrong?" The girl in front of me asks.

"I-I need to go. Please, I need to find my mate," I tell her.

"I guess I will be here then," she sadly states.
