Morning came, as usual you woke up and went for a jog, stopped at a bakery to get some fresh doughnuts. You settled on a nearby bench, and began eating your meal. You thought of sparing Sasha a few.

You ate in silence enjoying the quiet streets of Trost. Unlike in the day, this place is crowded and noisy. You sighed, a cat suddenly jumped on your lap. And began rubbing it's head on your stomach. It grabbed your wrist and pulled your hand holding the doughnut towards it's face and ate it.

'Shameless beings.'

You thought, you still let the cat eat it. There's still many inside of the box. Soon enough, cats surrounded your form, you kept feeding them. "Ernesta? What are you doing here?"

You looked up and met with a pair of astonishing sapphire eyes. "Good morning, Annie." She walked towards you and sat down beside you, the cats ran away because of her. Though one stayed and just sat on your lap. You offered her a doughnut and she gladly accepted.

"You really aren't joking when you said you wanted to join the Scouts. Now, i can't help but feel like maybe I'll loose you." She said her gaze down and not looking at you. She stared at the ground thinking if something like that happened, she won't know what's gonna happen to her.

"You will never loose me, Annie." You said assuring her.

"That's not what I meant when I said that. I mean loose like, what if you die? I can't stand that. It'll be too much for me." She said now looking at you with her worried and disturbed expression. You smiled at her and gently squeezed her shoulder.

"If i die. I'll die protecting you, and everyone."

She felt a bit relieved but the word 'die' is still mentioned so it wasn't really much. " As long as I'm here, you will never be alone. No matter what happen, you'll always be the same in my eyes. If your world collapses I'll be here share your pain with me, and I'll cry with you. I truly care for you, Annie."

Her lower lips shivered in anticipation. She couldn't help it anymore, tears threatens to spill out of her eyes, as she repeated your words inside of her head. 'I am not alone.' She wanted to scream, and release all the pain her heart is holding. She embraced your form, hugging your chest as she cried on your shirt, the sobbed like a child.

All her life she thought that no one else cared for her. Her life full of regrets, her father being the only one who believed in her is far, even so that didn't fill the void. Not until you came, who are you, lady. You appeared infront of her and made magic. She pulled away and looked at you with determined eyes.

"E-Ernesta..! I have something to say! I-I am, a-a-a bad person..! I still am..!" She said in her shaking voice. You stared and smiled at her. "You made a bad thing, but that doesn't make you a bad person. Listen, this hand-" you took her hand and placed it on top of yours.

"Made sins, and some maybe called unforgivable but that doesn't matter, as long as your heart stays pure." You pouted at her chest. You lift your hand up and wiped her tears, Annie leaning into your touch. "E-ernesta..! I have one more thing to tell you..! I-i..... I..! I like-- no-- lo--"

"Cadet Leonhart, Duty will start a few in just a minutes now. Go back to headquarters."

Both of you stood up and saluted towards one of your superiors. "Well, looks like your duty is starting. Come, I'll walk you to your head quarters." You offered. She accepted with a smile and you both walked towards The Military Police's Headquarters.

"Annie! Did Squad leader scolded you again?!" Shouted a blonde haired girl with wavy hair along with a bit with dark hair in a hair bowl cut. "Oh! Who is this, Annie?! A friend? Hello! I'm Hitch Dresey! And this! This is Marlo!"

"Greetings, And who might you be?"

"Oh, My name is Ernesta Emberstone. Pleasure meeting you." You held your hand towards him, offering him a handshake. Hitch took your hand before Marlo and began shaking your hand aggressively.

"Hitch. Be careful with her."

"So, You're in the Survey Corp. How was it there."

"Oh, it's great. Titans and deaths aside. Most of my comrades are wonderful people. There lot's of different people with potentials. And with Eren's Titan power we can assure Humanity's safety, we are one step closer to victory."

"Then let it shall be."

"Anyways, I'm just dropping Annie here. Time for me to head back to headquarters. See you guys around. Also Take care of Annie for me. Don't let her get lonely."

"You can count on me! When I'm around, she'll never be alone!"

I smiled at the group before waving goodbye to them.

"Squad Leader! Here's the Cadet." Both you and Armin looked at the source of the voice. You looked behind your shoulders and saw Hange Zoe and her assistant.

"Greetings, Are you Cadet Emberstone?" You nodded. You and Armin are currently in a good game of Chess. "So! I heard a lot about you! From Eren! Care to help me with my experiments with Titans?!"

You were startled at her sudden speech then the grabbing hands. "Uhm, you study things about titans, right?"

"Yes... And currently i need a lab rat- ehm i mean Assistant. Specially with Titans! Please help me!"

"Uhm, sure."

"Are you really sure? Please, you don't have to feel obligated to say ' yes' if you don't want to then you can freely decline." Moblit said.

"Thank you. But i also really want to study titans as well! And i have some questions regarding this topic. Can you answer them the best you can?" You turned to Hange. She couldn't contain her enthusiasm and jumped while holding me.

"Yes! Yes! I will help you too, with your questions."
