Aayush Pov:-
After sitting here don't know how many minutes have passed, remembering the past is hard but it will still be there to remind me why it's happened.
Still, I didn't get why everything happens, we were poor but happy, our parents die protecting us. Why they want to hurt us, we were only children. The drought in the village got out the real faces, the actual humanity of humankind. The faces we remembered who give us smile on our face, now give us dread remembering them.
People started bully, hurt and kill each other just to eat food and drink water. Theft is usual now in every corner of the village. People started training kids how to steal from others, some people started objecting including my parents, who got kill one way or other.
After seeing what hunger and thirst bought from people, I get Dhriti (my sister), and my friend Falguni with me outside of our village to find shelter. Falguni is none other than our neighbor's only child, her parents fought for not sending her outside to make her a thief, in the end, they got killed.
From two months coming out from the village and going around the city, we understood that drought happens because of pollution that what we human-made, we can't even blame God or Nature, because we are meant to blame for what we did.
"You are still sitting here and pacing again like an idiot, I suggest you go to the doctor, don't be such a pussy" this pussy word, Falguni learn, I don't know where from but I bet she doesn't even know what is pussy mean.
"Yes bro, don't be a 'pussy'" My sister knows more about these things, staying around my father and mother you will get to know more about this.
"Where are you learning this stuff from" Falguni just made a face, if her parents here they will make her eat her own words.
"Me. Grogger saying it to another man, who gets angrier after hearing it" she just shrugged. Like she didn't just want me to get angry. Dhriti is clutching her stomach and holding her laugh. She is little than me and Falguni but knew more than us.
Dhriti controlling her laugh now, get food out of her bag and started distributing with us, it's not nutritious but it's made us keep going with life a little longer. This is our reality, we make sure to live a little longer than other days
Tomorrow my hand will heal and I have to go back to work, we three have work different places, I want to stop Dhriti from working being fifteen Is not a teenager should do but she stops me saying, 'I'm not a damsel in distress, so do not pity me and I know my limits and being here doing nothing and thinking about the past is not something I want to do'.
To be truthful in her words she got the job in a bookstore as a housekeeper and they don't give her too much work, Falguni goes to the hotel as a waitress, sometimes doing kitchen chores so she can get more money and last me here, get a job to carry cardboard box, moving to the carriage, moving to the different goddawan and store.
The reality is as a man you have to handle more hard and physical work so you don't have to be useless, it's all they say, but do I care, what they think? no. In my family, my mother and father both did hard work together, unlike others one person will do all the work and the other will eat, sleep. As my little sister also does her work on her own, as my mother said, 'you cannot rely on others, you have to do your work' of course, the easy work she gets to do before she age enough to carry her hard work.
We stay at the shelter home where everyone is eating their food, they work for it.
"You should have taken something for yourself for wear. You cannot wear a skirt all the time. It's getting cold outside, you will get frost and we have to carry you around" well, Dhriti has a point.
"Girly, I look hot in this that's why I wear it, you should also try it out" Falguni also right.
"First of all, no I don't want to wear it, second, Where Are You Learning These Words hnn." She has logic.
I can see Falguni ears with smoke coming out, "girl if you only live in these pajamas every day then where you can hear these words from, all the boys don't even look at you for the one time." Now that's mean, I look at my sister to look if she feels hurt but she just rolls her eyes at her and scoffs like she said something unnecessary.
Of course, how can I forgot she has our mother gene who will eat every dish on the buffet but still didn't put on a single bit more weight.
They are still bickering around and I am zoning out already In my paradise.
Every day is a big challenge to know what will tomorrow will buy. Can we get more to live or this will be our last day.
Only tomorrow can tell.
