TW // language, death, slightly religious themes (the concepts of heaven and hell/the idea that gay people go to hell for being gay)

--Logan's POV--

I was sat reading a book at my desk when someone in a black crop top, a choker and a very short green plaid skirt walked in, looking around.

"You look surprisingly calm for someone who is literally in hell" he spoke, causing me to look up from my book.

"Yeah, it happens when you've been here as long as I have. To be honest, it's not too bad down here if you don't mind fire and food that's a bit gross. The worst part is when you form a bond with someone and they get torn away" I told him. Wow, way to go. You haven't told him your name, but you told him about the worst thing that's ever happened to you. "Oh, I should probably introduce myself. My name's Logan Ashdown. Died in 1350 of the plague. Been here ever since"

"Remus. Remus Appleton. Died today because I lost a wrestling match with an alligator" The man, Remus, told me, causing me to chuckle softly. I've been down here a while, I've hears about a lot of ways to die. Wrestling match with an alligator is a new one. "Also, you mentioned people being torn away? What do you mean, I thought Hell was kinda a permanent thing?" he asked

"In theory it is, but every few decades they change the requirements to get into heaven, then recategorize everyone. My first roommate and I actually died on the same day and lived together down here for a while, became good friends. Then they decided jealousy isn't that bad and boom, I've been alone ever since" I told him. Friends was probably a bit of an understatement. Yeah, Pat was straight on Earth, but unless straight means spending almost all your free time making out with your roommate who's the same gender as you, once he got down here, his straightness didn't last long in Hell.

"I'm sorry. But, if it makes you feel better there's no way I'm ever getting out of here" Remus told me, interrupting my thoughts.  "Sorry if this is rude, but what'd you do that landed you down here?"

"I like guys. That's literally it" I told him. The rules about homosexuality and the afterlife are weird. It's all based on what happens on Earth. I had some experience with men on Earth, so I'm down here. Pat didn't show any romantic or sexual attraction until we met down here, so he transferred to Heaven eventually.

"Wait, that actually gets you stuck down here? I thought that was just a homophobic rumor?" Remus asked

"Yeah, apparently not. What did you do?" I responded, mostly just trying to keep myself out of my own thoughts

"What haven't I done?" Remus replied with a giggle. Oh fuck, that was kind of cute. NO! Logan, don't do this to yourself. Don't fall for another guy. It's not worth it.
