A week later, Remus, Logan, and Thomas stood at the bottom of the staircase that led up to heaven. A guard accompanied them to make sure they didn't all just go back to their little apartment.
Remus knelt down so he was face to face with Thomas. "Be good, kid. You and daddy are gonna have fun up there. I'll miss you"
"What about you, papa? Aren't you coming with?" Thomas asked quietly
"I'm sorry, pumpkin. I can't. Hopefully I'll see you again some day" Remus replied, trying to not cry. He hugged the little boy and then kissed his forehead before standing up. "Well, I guess this is it, Lo,"
"Yeah, I guess so" Logan responded with a sigh
"Here we are, stuck at the gate of Lucifer's estate" Remus said with a chuckle
"I can't believe I ended up falling in love with a guy I met in hell" Logan responded, also laughing through his pain
"I love you so goddamn much. I'll miss you" Remus said, finally breaking down into tears
"I love you too, darling. I really wish I could stay" Logan replied.
Remus nodded before pulling Logan into one last kiss. When they pulled away, he whispered one last thing in his boyfriend's ear.
"Say 'hi' to god"
An explosion went off somewhere in the distance, Remus snapped his head around when he heard the noise. When he turned back around, Logan and Thomas were gone. His boys were gone. And he never saw them again.
