I change into a simple outfit after getting out of the shower and bushing my teeth, slipping on some spandex shorts and the t-shirt Jimin let me wear to bed since I only wore it for a couple of hours. The hem just barely covers the hem of the shorts, the look putting all of the bruises on my thighs on display. I scoop the damp strands of my hair into a messy bun on top of my head before putting on some ankle socks, walking out of the guest room after I grab my phone and the sneakers I want to wear today.

"Took you long enough" Jimin calls from the kitchen as I make my way down the stairs, my eyes rolling as I shake my head. I walk into the kitchen and smile at Mrs. Park as she places a breakfast sandwich in Jimin's hand, accepting the one she holds out for me as well.

"To rebuild your strength" she whispers as she leans in, her shoulder nudging against mine as she gives my bruises a knowing look. For the first time in years, a dark blush takes over my face and neck as I avoid eye contact, her soft laughter causing Jimin to look over at us in confusion.

"What did you say to Charley? I've never seen her face turn that color before."

"Fuck off, Jimin" I say with a glare, my eyes narrowing when the corners of his lips curl up as he holds back a laugh.

He chuckles, sliding out of his chair and walking towards the two of us. "What was it, mom? I have to know now."

Mrs. Park sighs in disappointment, Jimin smug smirk falling off his face as she places her hands on her hips and faces him full on. "Now now, Jimin. I taught you better than to tease a young woman like that."

My laughter spills out of me as his mouth goes slack, his own cheeks reddening as he points an accusatory finger my way.

"Do you know how many times Charley has teased me with mean names? She even--"

"Hush" she cuts in, his eyes growing impossibly larger. "Now you just sound like a child. Honestly, son, you should have grown out of the tattling stage by now."

She turns and winks at me before walking towards the front door, my laughter silent as I trail behind her. "Hurry up, Jimin. I'm taking time out of my day to give you a ride."

...................

I wave as Mrs. Park pulls away from the driveway of the crew's place, reaching down to pull on the sleeve of his sweatshirt when he doesn't make any indication of moving. He was butthurt the whole ride here, low grumbles leaving his pouted lips as he complained about his mom and I always ganging up on him under his breath. He'll get over it though, my excitement over getting a new tattoo trumping his slight annoyance.

The cool breeze raises goosebumps on my arms as we make our way past the well-kept lawn that has been lined with rose bushes, loose strands of my hair blowing into my eyes. I practically skip up to the front porch before ringing the doorbell, Jimin taking a little longer to make it to where I am. I silently curse myself for wearing shorts and a t-shirt when the wind blows even harder, envying Jimin and his warm clothes.

Seemingly hearing my thoughts, Jimin's arms are suddenly around me, his form blocking me from the wind. His body heat surrounds me as he holds me against his chest, his head resting on top of mine and his arms caging me in. His familiar scent wraps around me and I suddenly find it hard to breathe, my heart speeding up and my awareness of him spiking. I can't seem to focus on anything other than the fact that he is so close to me, which doesn't make any sense considering all that has happened between us already.

I'm so out of it that I jump when the door opens, everything coming back into focus as I suddenly find myself standing in front of one of my closest friends. The grin that stretches across my face almost hurts as I catapult into his arms, his soft voice filling my ears.
