Dark Hidden Secrets

Chapter 1

It was one exceptional Thursday the sun was shining, the birds were chipping. The A-Team was doing their usual thing at lunch. They were just sitting on the school bench farthest away from the courtyard. 

Ashlynn looked between Ali and Axel and then voiced "ughhh, the sun is too bright and happy for me we should go for a walk around the woods" Ali and Axel looked at each other and laughed they thought she was joking.

 The school made it clear that they were to never enter or go near the woods. The woods were filled with all sorts of uncertainty. Some students had gone missing in there before and it was known that the homeless slept in the woods.

 She looked at them with the most serious face she could and said "Does it look like I'm joking to you guys, let's be a little daring and go in and explore a little bit. What's the worst thing that could happen?" They stopped laughing and looked at her wide-eyed.

 They did not want to enter the mysterious woods under any circumstances, but they knew right away that she would go in alone and they knew about power in numbers. They decided to compromise.

 Ali sighs and tells "let's make a deal. We go to the edge of the forest and look in, and if we see or hear anything creepy then we come back to our sacred bench." Ashlynn broke eye contact and looked over at the woods and thought about it then looked at Ali and then nodded her head in agreement. "Deal!" she said with a mischievous grin. Axel exclaimed, "We need to know our game plan and we have just about 45 minutes left of our lunch break so we better get started."

 They get up and walk over to the edge of the woods. They peer into the woods, Ali and Axel get an intense feeling of uneasiness and dread. Ali feels shivers run down her spine while on the other hand, Ashlynn gasps in pure and utter excitement "oh my god look how absolutely beautiful this looks! Come on let's take a look inside." 

Ashlynn looks over at them with puppy dog eyes and a pouty face. They looked at each other with such uncertainty and then back at Ashlynn. Then in unison, they said "F- Fine." in an uncertain tone. Slowly one by one they carefully slide down the little ledge of the school field to the forest while Ashlynn leads with a bright smile on her face.

 In Ashlynn's eyes, all she could see was beauty everywhere she looked, It was glowing in colour. There were flowers known and unknown to her, tall Viney trees, and a little path of gravel that seemed to lure her to follow it to some mysterious treasure beyond it.

 Axel looks around in complete and utter disgust. He looks at the trees they were filled with rot, moss and wilting flowers "Oh hell naw, I'm not fucking with that!" he said petrified. Ashlynn exclaimed in shock "you must be crazy! It's so pretty and looks harmless and there are no bad vibes about this place, let's follow it just follow the path for a little bit. There's just something about this place that just lures me in to go further!"

 Again Axel and Ali did not want to go but they saw how happy it made Ashlynn so they ended up deciding that they would do it for her as they had never seen her this happy in a long time.

 Ali and Axel link hands, Ali whispers to Axel while Ashlynn's a little bit ahead. "This is so weird I don't understand how she finds this so intriguing." "She also said she didn't get any bad vibes but this place is just radiating bad vibes." He whispers back.

After about 20 minutes of walking they come to a path that breaks into 3 different paths, they take the path on the right and end up turning the corner. They turn into dozens of different trails that's when they realized they were lost. "Guys I think we need to stop and attempt to go back to school," Axel says as Ali begins to feel his hand start to tremble from pure fright. 

They all looked puzzled because they only remember turning right down that one path and walking along with it for a while but now it seems that there were many different paths to choose from. Did they not see the other ways? Either way, they were lost and had to look for a way out. 

They walk for a while going down different twists and turns trying to find a way out but they end up finding an abandoned log cabin. 

In Ashlynn's eyes, she sees this beautiful cabin with daisies out front. "Oh my gosh this cabin is absolutely gorgeous," Ashlynn says in awe. Ali and Axel both look at each other "is she seeing what we're seeing." They look back at the cabin revealing to them how molded and rundown it is, the daisies wilting on the outside. 

Ashlynn runs up to the door opening it. She walks inside Ali and Axel following behind her. As they walked in they saw it was just a one-room cabin with an old mattress in the farthest right side corner and a sink and a stove to its left. A dining table to their left as they enter the door and to their right an old worn-out couch there was a door in between the bed and the couch and it leads to the bathroom. 

Ashlynn turns to the group. "We should spend the weekend here! No adults, just us and we can do whatever we want to!" "yes, let's do it. It seems like it could be fun" Ali gets excited and looks at Axel he sighs "fine as long as we bring something to protect us we never know who is wondering these woods." Then leave with a feeling like they were being watched. 

They wander around for an hour and finally make it out. "Well looks like schools out better start heading home just make sure you guys pack for the weekend," Ali says walking away from the group, everyone splitting in their own direction to go home.
