Taeyong P.O.V

Taeyong was waiting impatiently with Mark. Doyong, Haechan, Johnny and Jeno already went in. Jaehyun had asked them to wait for him while he grabbed something but he’s been gone for over 15 minutes. 

Taeyong looked down at his phone, it was almost time for the lights to start.

“Papa come on, come on” Mark tugged on his shirt. 

“Just a minute baby” Taeyong looked around for Jaehyun, “ugh stupid dimples” he mumbled to himself. 

After a few minutes Mark started pointing happily.

“He’s coming”.

Jaehyun ran up to them. 

“Sorry that took so long” he smiled at them. 

“Daddy, come on we have to hurry” Mark grabbed his hand.

“Okay, Okay” Jaehyun laughed. 

Mark’s been calling Jaehyun that for a few weeks now. Taeyong didn’t really mind, he thought it was cute. Jaehyun smiled at the little boy and grabbed his hand, pulling Taeyong along as well. 

They got onto the long boat. They would be rowed across the river and lights would turn on around them. Johnny, Jeno and Doyoung were in front. Haechan and Mark in the middle and him and Jaehyun in the back. 

“Seriously, what took you so long?” he asked Jaehyun. 

“Sorry bubu,” he kissed Taeyongs head. 

“What did you get?” he asked curiously. 

“It’s a secret,” he winked.

Taeyong pouted at the answer and Jaehyun laughed at his cuteness.

“We’re moving, we’re moving !” Haechan shouted excitedly. 

Taeyong looked around. He was surprised to see so many families in their own boats. It was Christmas Eve after all. He was happy, this would be Mark's first Christmas where it wasn’t just the two of them. Jaehyun would be there. Somehow having him here makes everything more cheerful. Taeyongs never been the holiday type but this year he’s more in the spirit. 

Not to mention Jaehyun is literally the biggest Christmas guy. Taeyong usually just sets up a plastic tree, throws some lights on it and calls it a day, but not Jaehyun. He made them get an actual tree, he’s been baking non- stop and practically begged Taeyong to sing songs around the neighborhood with him and the other carolers. It’s been different, but a fun different. 

Jaehyun P.O.V

Christmas time always seemed to make Jaehyun happy, well any holiday actually. Holidays were the only time people we’re being actually decent human beings. This Christmas time has been especially great because he’s with Taeyong and Mark. 

He’s never really spent Christmases or special days with his family. His parents were always too busy. Maybe that's why he’s really trying to make this Taeyong’s and Mark’s best Christmas ever. He actually left earlier to get Taeyong’s present. He had ordered it a week ago and they told him it was ready. The store was pretty close and he wanted to surprise him by giving it to him on Christmas eve. 

“It’s beautiful, right?” Taeyong asked.

He looked around them. There were lights shimmering all around in different shapes, they glitterd the water in the river. It was gorgeous but barely compared to the person in front of him. No matter how many times Jaehyun has stared at him, Taeyong somehow manages to take his breath away every single time he looks at him. His cheeks and nose were rosy from the cold and his big doll eyes were staring at him waiting for him to respond. Jaehyun smiled at his boyfriend brightly. 

“It is beautiful” he lifted up his hand and squished Taeyongs cheek, “but not as beautiful as my Taeyongie~” he smiled.

Taeyong pushed his hand away embarrassed, but didn’t fail to notice that Taeyongs face was now warm. 

“Jaehyun, don’t say cheesy things like that out of the blue” he blushed.

Jaehyun laughed.

“I can’t help it, your reactions are adorable”.

Taeyong only pouted again which made Jaehyun want to tease him more. He was about to before Doyong turned around. 

“Can you two stop being cute for a couple seconds, there's other people on this boat you know”.

Johnny chimed in,

“Don’t worry about him, he's just grumpy because I didn’t give him a kiss under the mistletoe yet”.

“Sh-shut up” he slapped his arm.

They all laughed together. Jaehyun then remembered what he had bought earlier. 

“Taeyong can you turn around for me?” Taeyong turned around giving him a questioning look before doing so, “And close your eyes” he added. 

“You better not be doing anything creepy,” he said.

Jaehyun faked a gasps, “Taeyong, there are children present”.

“Ok” he laughed, “but hurry up, I think they're going to start fireworks soon”. 

Jaehyun got out the necklaces and carefully placed it around Taeyongs neck. 

“You can open your eyes now”.

Taeyong P.O.V

Taeyong opened his eyes surprised to see the expensive jewelry on his neck. 

“Jaehyun how?”

“At first I was searching online and stumbled upon it and it reminded me of you, then I remember you staring at the exact same one in a magazine a couple weeks ago”.

Taeyong looked back down at the beautiful necklace. It was a gold pendant, with a pretty pink rose trapped in glass, which was in the shape of a teardrop. Taeyong almost cried looking at it, it was even more lovely in person. 

He gave Jaehyun the biggest hug he could. 

“I love it”. 

“I’m glad, I also got Mark that liveaction fire truck he wanted” he whispered.

“Geeze, I feel like my gift to you sucks now” he laughed. 

Taeyong had only gotten him some cologne and a vinyl he knew he liked. 

“I’m sure I’ll love it”.

He kissed Taeyongs head. He just looked up at him,

“I’m serious Jaehyun tell me what you want I’ll get you anything”.

Jaehyun thought a moment before a playful grin spread across his face”. 

“Anything, huh? Well remember that maid costume I wanted you to wear?”

Taeyong pulled his ear. 

“I’m serious, Jaehyunnie” 

“I know I was joking, mostly” he laughed. 

He pulled Taeyong into his arms and sunk his face into his neck, 

“I- I just want you to stay with me. T-that’s all” he said quietly but Taeyong heard him.

Boom !

The fireworks started to go off. Jaehyun stayed with his face buried Taeyongs neck. Taeyong smiled. He knew he was embarrassed, even though he didn’t act like it Jaehyun gets flustered easily too.Taeyong thought this shy side of him was adorable. He patted Jaehyuns hair before turning around and placing a kiss on his lips. 

“I think I can do that” he smiled.
