"Thinking what?" I ask, looking into his eyes.
"It's just that, I don't know, it's been a while since I've had an episode," says Peeta, dropping his head. "What if it comes back? I'll hurt Willow and you."
I sigh and cup his face gently, tilting his head up to meet my eyes. "You won't hurt us. You have more control now."
"I'm not used to it anymore. I haven't had one for a couple years, but hat doesn't mean it's gone," he says, taking a deep breath. I see the fear in his eyes, taking me back to the war, when he begged me to leave him behind. There was so much fear that he would snap. So much.
"You'll be fine, okay? You'll be okay." I say softly. I believe it. He better believe it to.
I kiss him softly, careful to not spark anything. But of course, that never works

We lay in our bed, the blankets covering us as the last remaining hours of day slipping away. My head is on Peeta's bare chest, hearing his heart trying to steady itself.
"Do you believe me yet?" I barely whisper.
"About what? He asks, his fingers in my hair.
"Being okay."
"I never doubted you."
I sigh, lifting my head off his chest, looking at him. His eyes look black from the darkness.
"I love you," I whisper, putting my head back down.
"I love you too, Katniss," he says before I am sucked into the only place that brings me peace.
