September 8th, 11:47 am,

Bella

A loud noise awakens me. My alarm clock. Again. I need to find a more effective way of waking up. My hand moves out from under my pillow, tapping the clock on its head; muting the sound. After turning it off, I throw my head back onto my pillow before doing a double-take. I slept in. I groan lightly, pulling my blanket over my head. Why did I sleep in so late? And why didn't my clock go off earlier? Ash was here last night. Wasn't he? I struggle to remember exactly what happened last night, only that it was so early my brain could barely function. My mind aches to remember, but it is more or less a blur. There is no sign of Ash ever being here, but I remember him on my bed. I remember falling asleep on the floor. So why am I on my bed?

Breathing out heavily, I place my hand on my head. My arm is wrapped in a thick, dark fabric. I think it is the same one Ash was wearing. I vividly remember pulling it on last night. I just didn't realize it was his. I thought it was one of mine that I threw on the floor. So it did happen. Groaning once more, I pull myself off the bed and slouch towards my mirror.

I do not feel good. My whole body feels warm, and my hair is plastered to my forehead because of the sweat dripping down my face. Dropping my face into my hands, I pull my hair into a loose ponytail at the back of my head. Looking closer into the mirror, I analyze myself. Eyes are bloodshot and beads of sweat run freely down my nose. Not a good look.

My whole body feels groggy, and I want nothing more than to have a shower. I am already hours late for all of my lessons, so I will have to find time to catch up later. I can't believe I have missed so much on my second day. If I didn't feel like this, I would be straight down to class. I'll just have to ask Liam for the notes.

I attempt to pull the hoodie over my head in hopes of getting some relief from the warmth. As I do so, the elastic reaches my neck, and my eyes turn foggy. I try to continue to pull the jumoer over the rest of my head, but my arms won't work properly. My entire body goes weak, and I fall to the ground, my arms breaking most of the fall.

A few minutes later, I hear an echo of loud banging. I can't really tell where the noise is coming from, only that it is intense and very irritating. ''Bella, are you okay?'' A voice shouts in my ear. It sounds so close to me, but there is no one next to me. As I come back to reality, I realize the noise is coming from outside. Someone is trying to break my door down. ''Bella, please answer me,'' I hear what I think is Liam's voice say.

''What's going on Liam?'' I hear another voice question from somewhat further away. It gets louder towards the end, and I figure they are getting closer to the door. The voice is much more obvious and recognizable as Ash's.

''I don't know! I was sent by Mrs. Simpson to go and find Bella as she didn't turn up to class. As I came to the door, I heard a loud bang on the floor and now she isn't replying,'' His voice wavers. I can sense the worry in his voice, but I don't yet know why.

Another loud banging sequence hits the door. ''Bella, what the fuck are you doing? Are you okay?'' Ash booms through the door. It sounds as though his mouth is pressed against the door due to a slight muffling effect. All goes silent for a second, and then I hear the two arguing inaudibly with some students walking down the hall. So violent.

''I'm fine,'' I croak, trying to stand up from my position on the floor. I can't move any part of my body, and-- as hard as I try-- I can't push myself up. Clearly, they don't hear me as they continue on their conversation.
