After '85

Chapter 3 The Outcast

"The who?" Will asked. "That's what they call themselves, The Outcast," El said.
"Who exactly are they? Who are "The Outcast" members?" Jonathan wondered.
"Kali, Axel, Dottie, Mick, and Funshine." El replied. "Funshine," Will said giggling.
"Ya, Funshine, and he will beat you up if he wants to but he's actually a really kind person," El said.
"How exactly do you know kali?" Joyce asked.
"She has a number, we met in the rainbow room." El replied.
"The rainbow room?"
"It's at the lab"
"Well the rainbow room isn't the point, we need to find somewhere to stay so we don't freeze to death in this rain." Jonathan interrupted.
"Right, El can you show us where they are?" Joyce asked, El nodded.
They got in the car and Joyce began to drive.
El gave Joyce the directions and after about 2 hours of driving they arrived at some abandoned house, or so they thought.
"Are you sure this is the right place?" Joyce asked El.
"Yes, I'm sure" El replied.
"Ok, well El I'll let you go in first since we don't really want to scare your sister."
El nodded and got out of the car and slowly walked into the building.
"Hello?" she said "is anyone here?"
Axel walks up to El holding a knife, "What are you doing here?!" He said not recognizing her. "How did you find us?!"
"It's me," El said, "Jane, it's me, Jane." She said. The other had heard El say that and quickly came up to her, Kali nowhere in sight.
"Holy shit, you have hair!" Dottie said as she touched her hair, "I've always had hair just not much of it." El replied chuckling. "And she talks!" Mick said.
"Where's kali?" El asked. "Oh she went out to get food but she'll be back soon," Funshine answered. "I wanna ask for a favor..." El said, "sure anything," said Funshine. "Well there was an accident..." El began "What kind of accident?" Dottie asked. "A fire, and now we don't have anywhere to stay... Is it ok if we stay here for a while? Until we find a new place to stay?" "Who's we?" Mick asked. "Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and I" El answered, "My family."
The outcast members talk for a few seconds making the decision that if it's Jane's family, they can stay.
Everyone goes into the building and greets each other making new friends.
A while later everyone is talking to one another, except El, she's waiting for Kali, she's taking longer than expected... Maybe an hour or 2 later, Kali finally gets back. She walks in, not able to hear or see everyone talking, "Guess who back!" she said, El immediately hears her and goes to her. "Sister.." El says softly "Jane?!" Kali replied, El nods, they hug. "Your hair is so long," Kali said smiling after then hugging, touching Els's soft brunette hair. "Dottie said that too'' El said smiling. "I have so much to tell you guys!" El said excitedly "We have lots of time" Kali replied, "I also have a few friends here" "well that's fine," kali said grabbing El's hand and bringing her to where the others are, they sit down and introduce themselves.
El tells everyone what happened after she last saw them, from when Mike and El kissed at the snowball to Hopper's death and even about the fire. Everyone was surprised but happy for Jane since she has a boyfriend.
"Why does everyone here call you Jane?" Will asked El
"Cuz that's my real name" El replied
"What do you guys call her? I mean since you don't call her Jane" Kali asked
"We call her El, she got that nickname back in '83 when the kids met her," Joyce said
"Whats El short for?" Mick asked
"Eleven" El responded
"But that's just your number, not your real name, Jane Ives is your real name, right?" Kali said
"El Hopper is my name, I don't go by Jane much since that name was taken away from me, I don't go by Eleven much since that name was ford upon me, I go by El cuz that's the name Mike gave to me." El said
"Jim adopted her," Joyce said.
"Like her policeman?" Kali asked "If he adopted her, why does she live with you guys? Why doesn't she live with Jim?"
El looked down sadly at the thought of answering those questions, so Joyce pitched in.
"He died last year.." Joyce said, "She's lived with us ever since."
"Oh, I'm so sorry..." Kali said. A tear slowly rolled down El's face without her noticing, Kali saw that and quickly wiped it away and hugged her tightly, all the others soon joined in on the hug, El felt a little claustrophobic but didn't say anything because she felt comforted by her friends.
By the time they finished hugging El Joyce said the kids should head to bead since they had a long and hard day. Jonathan and Will slept in the same bed, and Joyce and El slept in the same bed then everyone else slept in their normal beds. El stayed up most of the night cause she was scared she would have a nightmare, but eventually, she got so tired she ended up falling asleep, but the dream was something she didn't expect...

El jumped awake from the nightmare, or she thought it was a nightmare, blood started dripping from her nose, Joyce ended up waking up from the movement of the bed when El jumped, saw she had a bloody nose, and quickly grabbed El some tissues.
"El what happened?" Joyce said wiping away the blood from El's nose.
"I saw him...." El said.
"Saw who? Mike?"
"Hopper...." El said.

Fun fact I actually already have 6 chapters done and it's on docs well I have 5 chapters working on the 6th anyways hope you enjoyed
