"You fixed your eyes on us
Your flesh and blood
A sculpture of water and unsettled dust
And there was bad blood in us
We learned our lesson
Genesis to the last generationSo we wrestle with it all
The concept of grace
The faithful concrete
As it breaks our fall
Our questions are all the same
A den of cold words
How they feel brand new
Against different time frames
A den of cold words
Against different time framesWe know it all by heart
The whole is greater
Than the sum of its parts
We heard it all before
And beauty there echoes
The speck of our souls
And beauty there echoes
The speck of our soulsLike firewood burning bright
In the dead of winter
Now only the flicker can cling to this life
So we heard it over mass
Is a faith a prediction
Wear our tradition until we collapse
And argue our bearings until we collapseWe study our story arcs
Inherently good
Or were we broken right from the start?
Our hesitant fingerprints
Trace every mountain
Lace every valley
Until we're convincedWe know it all by heart
Every blade of grass
Bears our mark
And the name will be engraved
Oh it's just another word
For being afraidWe know it all by heart
The whole is so much greater
Than the sum of its parts
We heard the truth before
And beauty there echoes
The speck of our soulsBad Blood, Sleeping At Last

You have the power to destroy me and my dreams, Evelyn.
Evelyn sighed, staring blankly at her meal while Tom was consuming hungrily his food in front of her.
When did Tom tell her that? Or was it Voldemort?
Her mind was too confused.
"You need to eat. It's going to be a long day" he tried to encourage her, constantly glancing at her while she was lost in her deep thinking.
Aberforth welcomed them in his pub offering them a room for the night and food, but they kept him out of their conversation.
"Our last hope is that he can't become the Master of Death" she murmured "Just like Snape can't".
Tom frowned pondering her words, then asked "What am I missing?".
"After you were gone, Aberforth told me that I might be the Mistress of Death. Because I encountered all the Hallows. And also Albus confessed him that the Elder Wand wasn't working properly anymore after I accidentally touched it".
She scoffed, thinking that it was absurd, but Tom took it very seriously.
"Salazar wanted you to hand him the ring. You kept the cloak for so long. It would make sense if also the Wand obeys you".
Evelyn held her breath, uneasy in front of that possibility.
"Voldemort can't master it because Death is what he fears the most. And the Elder Wand is supposed to obey only someone who accepts Death. Also Snape doesn't fit as master, because he wants to gather the Hallows to bend Death to his will".
"If you are the Mistress, Snape can't harm Harry nor anyone else. And that could be the reason why he's hiding at Hogwarts instead of fighting his way out" Tom started to like that idea.
She grimaced "But I don't want to claim that Wand. It's covered with the blood of its previous owners. It's...so extremely dark".
"If Voldemort takes it, at least I can get my wand back".
She shook her head, fearing the mere idea of the dark version of her husband getting the most powerful wand.
She looked at the window, seeing the first light of the new day. A day that could change everything, or pull them all into ruin.
"You should wait here, until you get your wand back" she suggested as they stood up to get ready to reunite with the others.
"If you're going to Hogwarts, I'm coming too. I hate being without my wand, but it doesn't mean I'm totally useless".
She rolled her eyes "You can never be useless. But I want to protect you".
"I'm still the leader of the resistance. I'm needed there" he said, ending the discussion.
She grabbed his hand and followed him outdoor. Her eyes fell on her hand. She feared to touch her ring, knowing that it was linked now to Voldemort.
