hi everyone! Here's the new story--- a Pokémon fanfic sorta thing! I really love Pokémon (I'm sort of a Pokénerd, though not as good as Chuggaaconroy XD) and I hope you guys enjoy this. This isn't just a remake of a game, either--- it's my take on Pokémon, with new characters, a new story plot, a not-so-new region (though this one isn't used very often) and such! I really hope you guys like it!!! Woo! Let's hear it for chapter one!

CHAPTER ONE

I beamed into the spotlight. This is truely where I belong.

"The final battle between Coordinators Jade Pixx and Priscilla Monroe will now begin! Whoever wins here will take home the Unova Ribbon Cup! Will it be Jade Pixx--- a rising star who has quickly found her place in Pokémon Contests; or experienced Coordinator Priscilla Monroe, who has managed to get herself four other Ribbon Cups? Fate will decide! Leeeeeeeet's battle!"

"Go, Shiftry!" Jade yelled, sending her red and white Pokéball flying.

I smirked. Doesn't she know it's always a mistake to send out your Pokémon first?

I reach for my Pokéball; "C'mon, Typhlosion! Show 'em how it's done!"

I expertly toss my ball into the air, and Typhlosion emerges from the beam of white light. His yellow and blue-green fur gleams.

"Jade sends out her Shiftry, while Priscilla sends out her trusty Typhlosion!" the MC commentates.

I roll my eyes. As if the audience couldn't see that already.

"The battle will now begin! Time starts now!"

I listened for the familiar ding as the clock went from 5:00 minutes to 4:59 minutes.

     "Shiftry, Shadow Ball!" Jade yelled.

Hmm. So she's the kind that likes to attack first.

Her Shiftry twirls gracefully before releasing a full-power Shadow Ball.

Does she really think that'll manage to hit my Pokémon?

"Typhlosion, counter it with Lava Plume." I say patiently.

Typhlosion roars, and flames erupt from the base of his neck around the back. A ball of lava grows in his mouth, and when it's done, he launches it at Jade's Shadow Ball. The two collide in midair, and then they explode violently, bits of lava spewing everywhere.

I instantly glance over at the scoreboard. I smile with satisfaction as Jade gets points deducted for attacking first and failing to hit. I'm off to a good start already.

The clock now reads 4:36 minutes remaining. It's go-time.

I open my mouth to tell Typhlosion to use Lava Plume again, but Jade beats me to the attack.

     "Shiftry, use Quick Attack."

Her Shiftry darts forward at an alarming speed, flying down the field at us.

I bite my lip. Typhlosion isn't exactly the fastest at dodging. Our usual strategy is to counter an attack with an attack, but Typhlosion doesn't know a physical move fast enough to counter Quick Attack.

I don't like it, but I'll have to reveal another one if his moves in order to get out of this unscathed.

     "Typhlosion, use Protect!" I yell.

"Jade launches a shockingly fast Quick Attack, and Priscilla counters with a steady Protect!" I hear the MC announce.

True to her word, a misty yet solid green shield forms in front of my Pokémon, and Shiftry rams right into it with a bang. Smoke explodes everywhere and my vision is temporarily blotted out.
