Power Rangers Dino Thunder: The Mystic Dino (On Hold)

Prologue

John's POV:
Hey, my name's John Lee Scott. You probably know who my dad is based off my name. You guessed it, Jason Lee Scott, the first Red Ranger. My mom is the second Pink Ranger, Catherine Sutherland Scott. Both my parents helped protect the earth from evil forces. Even my uncle Tommy was there with them. But I'm getting ahead of myself. It all started when I was walking home from school, I was seventeen at the time and I was excited to tell my parents that I passed my Advanced Mathematics test. Unlike most people, I have an extremely high IQ. Anyways, I was walking home through the forest, since my parents wanted to live in nature to help further how to prevent pollution, on my way home I found a strange cave with a weird symbol on it. "Whoa, what is this?" I asked myself. I pulled out my phone and turned on the flashlight. I entered the cave and looked around. There wasn't much to the cave, just some stalagmites, cave paintings from ancient tribes, some bats, and a... giant stone statue of the legendary creature Quetzalcoatl. "What the hell? Why is there a statue of Quetzalcoatl doing in a cave here?" I asked. I placed my hand on the statue only for a secret chamber to open and I saw a strange glowing gem on a pedestal in the center of the room. I carefully made my way to the pedestal and looked at the gem. "Man, this would seriously make my parents happy. Their anniversary is just around the corner anyways." I said as I reached out to take the gem, but then something weird happened. The gem jumped up and latched itself on to my wrist as a band appeared that held the gem. "AH!" I shouted; then images of a silver mechanical robot appeared in my head as well as several people in multicolored suits. But one of them stood out, he was silver with a weird helmet that had details fo Quetzalcoatl. Once the images were gone, I saw a robot version of Quetzalcoatl roar in my head and then I was back to reality. I was breathing heavily as I had no idea what just happened, so I immediately started running back to my house.

Jason's POV:
Cat and I were going over the data that our instruments gathered from the environment and the pollutants in the air was overwhelming. "Cat, you seeing this?" I asked, "Unfortunately I am. The atmosphere is very contaminated. Including the water flowing from the river." Catherine said. We continued going over the data when John ran in sweating heavily, "John what happened?" I asked as he sat down and was trying to talk but his words were not making sense, "Statue... cave... weird gem... giant robot animals..." he said. That last part caught mine and Catherine's attention, "Johnny, there's something you should know. It's about our past." Cat said, "What do you mean?" John asked, "Your mom and I used to be Power Rangers." I said as his eyes widened. "You guys were Power Rangers?" John asked, "Yeah, your uncle Tommy was a Ranger as well. After I left, he became the next Red Ranger. Of course he was the Green Ranger first, then he was the White Ranger. We have a long history of protecting the earth from evil forces." I said. John chuckled, "Wow, my parents were superheroes. Not many kids can say that." John said as he was finally calming down. "Alright, you calm enough to tell us what you were talking about earlier?" Cat asked, "I was on my way home to tell you guys that I passed my Advanced Mathematics test, when I found this weird cave. I went inside to see if I could find something. But what I found was really weird, a stone statue of the ancient creature, Quetzalcoatl. I touched it and a secret chamber opened up. I saw this silver gem sitting on a pedestal and reached out to grab it, but it just jumped up on to my wrist and it turned into this." John said as he showed us his wrist with a morpher on it.

Catherine's POV:
I can't believe this is happening, my son is a power ranger now. "Jason, I'm going to call Tommy. He might be able to tell what kind of gem John has on his wrist." I said as he nodded, and I went to call Tommy at Reefside. "Tommy here." Tommy said, "Tommy, it's Catherine. Something's happened with Johnny." I said, "What happened?" he asked. "He found a gem inside a cave with a statue of the Quetzalcoatl creature. It jumped on to his wrist and now it doesn't look like it will come off. Tommy, it turned into a Morpher." I said, "Did you tell him yet?" he asked, "Yeah, we did. He knows that we used to be rangers. I think he should stay with you for a while. Jason and I have a lot of work to finish up. We can train him a little but, I think with the weird gem he has, you should be the one to train him." I said. "Have you talked to Jason about that?" Tommy asked, "Not yet. I will once we hang up." I said, "Well, I've wanted to spend some time with my nephew. I can catch a flight and meet you guys at the airport." Tommy said, "Thanks Tommy. We owe you one." I said as we hung up and Jason and John were laughing, "You and Uncle Billy seriously did that?" John asked, "Yeah, it was funny, but your mom wasn't too happy about it." Jason said as I remembered what he was talking about. "Jason, Tommy's coming for a visit." I said, "Wow, he hasn't visited us since you were ten John." Jason said. "Why is he coming? Does it have to do with this weird gem?" Johnny asked, "Yeah, Tommy is a Paleontologist, he might be able to figure out where that gem came from. He will also take you with him to Reefside. We can train you a little bit. Then Tommy will help finish your training." I said.

Third Person POV:
John was a little sad that his parents weren't going to fully train him, but he understood how important their research is. "Alright. But what about school?" John asked, "We can put in a transfer for the school at Reefside." Catherine said, "And you'll be staying with Tommy while you're there." Jason said as John nodded and they went outside to start John's training. For the next few hours John was able to quickly learn how to fight. Soon they heard a car horn and saw a black jeep pulling up as Tommy Oliver got out of the car and walked over to his nephew and old friends. "Tommy, great to see you again." Jason said, "Good to see you too, Jason." Tommy said. Tommy saw John and how tall he had gotten, and he immediately noticed the gem and knew what it was. "Where'd you find the dino gem?" Tommy asked, "Tommy what are you talking about?" Catherine asked, "The gem John has on his wrist, it's called a Dino gem. It came from the same meteorite that crashed into the earth that wiped out the dinosaurs. I got three students who have them as well, they're the new Power Rangers." Tommy said, "New Power Rangers? When did this happen?" Jason asked, "Two days ago. I've been training them for the same amount of time. But things are getting messy, they need another ranger on the team. John, what kind of dino did you see when you bonded with the gem?" Tommy asked, "It wasn't a dino, it was Quetzalcoatl." John said. Tommy was shocked to hear that, "That explains a lot." Tommy said, "What do you mean?" Jason asked, "Before you guys called me, I picked up a strong energy surge from near here. My guess, John accidently stumbled upon the legendary Quetzalcoatl warrior lair. The gem is from the same meteorite that killed the dinosaurs, but it came into contact with Quetzalcoatl and entered a long sleep. Now, that power has chosen John as it's new wielder." Tommy said. With that said, John's training continued for the next two days and he gotten stronger, faster, and smarter. The day came when Tommy had to return to Reefside, and John packed a suitcase and said goodbye to his parents. "I'll call once we land back at Reefside." John said, "Be good for your uncle. And keep the earth safe." Jason said, "I will, love you mom, love you dad." John said, "We love you too sweetheart." Catherine said as Tommy and John got on their plane and headed for Reefside. "You're life has changed in a whole new way John. You ready for this?" Tommy asked, "Yeah. But I think we should keep me being a ranger from the new rangers until the time is right. Whenever you need me, I'll help out." John said as they left for Reefside.
