Dear Astoria (yes - just Astoria),
I am glad you had a good Christmas - mine was okay, but family reunions are always awkward.
I also wish I was not a Malfoy. The last name is tarnished, and that fact doesn't pain me as much as it would when I was a child. My superiors did terrible, terrible things, and why would I pride myself in such things anymore?
The Malfoy name was my pride and joy. My father was my hero, and he was as proud as proud could get. I know my parents married out of love, but I believe the pureblood factor also contributed.
I want to find a love better than theirs. I want a love so pure, so real, and so honest. I'm done with secrets. My life had been twisted with secrets and lies. I want the truth for once.
I want someone who can see pat my past flaws and appreciate me for what I've become. But I don't think anyone besides you and a select few of my coworkers can see past my past persona.
Love,
Draco not-so-past-Draco
