Secret Spider (Phantom Troupe! Gon)

“You two finished simultaneously.”
Satotz looked down at the two boys in front of him. 

"What? No way!" Killua and Gon glared at each other than laughing.
In all honesty, Gon could've won but he wanted to keep the same pace as his new friend. He was impressed much as Killua was impressed by him.

"If we both tied then that means that I'll have to pay for your food while you pay for mine!"
Killua stuck his hand out for Gon to shake in return.
Gon smiled and shook his hand. "Deal! I'm impressed that we both ran at the same pace throughout all of phase 1!"

"Sorry to interrupt, but we are still in phase 1"
Satotz spoke, grabbing the attention of the two boys.
"This isn't phase 2? Geez how long is this phase?"
"Can you tell us where we are?"
"I will once the other contestants have reached the finish." Satotz finished while walking away from them. The boys watched him as he walked away and returned to their playful conversations.

People started reaching to the top where the boys were waiting. Some fell on the grass due to their now numb legs while others stood to catch their breaths.

"Is this the second phase?"
Kurapika and Leorio walked towards the two boys. Killua shook his head, making Leorio sigh in annoyance. "There's more?"
"It'll be over soon." Kurapika patted the sweaty man's shoulder for reassurance.

As Satotz looked around, making sure that the remaining contestants were set and the door that led them to the outside was shut, he continued his explanation.
Explaining about their current location named "Swindler's Swamp" that is covered with crafty and voracious creatures.

"They are known for their trickery and eat you with relish. Follow me and stay focused.
Please note that if you are deceived, you are dead."
Satotz finished his explanation.
Gon gripped his backpack tighter and took a look at the other opponents.
There were less from before when he first stepped into the area.
He nodded to himself, knowing that this will be no problem at all.
He's heard of Swindler's Swamp before but never had the chance to explore it so this was a little exciting for him.

"Stop! He's an imposter!! He's not the examiner!"

Everyone turned to their attention behind them to see an injured man slowly walking towards the crowd.
“I’m the real examiner!” He pointed at Satotz who looked completely unphased.
Gon sighed boredly while on the other hand, Leorio seemed to be confused. Not knowing who to believe.
Everyone else seemed just as confused except for a few obvious heads in the crowd.

The “real examiner” continued further and had the audacity to bring out a creature that looked similar to Satotz but mixed with a monkey.
This made the ones confused in an even bigger state of shock.

"See! Just li-"

A card.
A card out of nowhere swiftly penetrates his skull. A few more followed, reaching the monkey creature and the man once again.

This caught Gon's attention for sure, but he felt a shiver down his spine.
It always happened when he was going to get attacked by Hisoka.
Killua was next to him but slightly in front, paying his full attention to what just happened.
Gon grabbed his friend's shoulders and pulled him back gently, making him back up, and feeling what most likely is a card passing by.
He sighed in relief that his new friend didn't get harmed.

"Hey w-what are you doing?" Killua turned his head, whispering to Gon.
"S-sorry! Just excited that's all!" Gon whispered back with a smile, patting Killua's shoulders.
Killua gets his composure back and looks away quickly.
Gon loosened his smile and glared over at Hisoka who glared back with an innocent smile as if he didn't try his little act.

"Ah so it's settled than~"
Hisoka looked away from Gon and giggled towards the crowd.
Gon gave the jester an annoyed glare from afar.
'Just who does he think he is?' Gon thought.

"I will take as a compliment so I thank you, but if there is any other reason why you should attack me or any other examiner, you will be disqualified." Satotz replied at Hisoka's explanation he gave after attacking at his three targets.
There was still a few more talking before they all start, so Gon took advantage of this time.

"Killua I'll be right back. I think I saw something really cool I would like to see." Gon winked, giving Killua a lie while he walks between people to get to a certain magician.

"Oh my favorite fruit, how was the first run~?" Hisoka noticed Gon walking up to him with a hint of annoyance in his face.
"Oh don't favorite fruit me, what was that for? You almost hit my friend!" Gon pouted.
"You know how much I love to give you surprises right~"
"I didn't like this surprise."

"And I don't think your the only one who didn't enjoy it either" Hisoka giggled, turning his head to the other group infront of them.
Gon looked over aswell and sensed a powerful aura with huge intensity of bloodlust.

Illumi didn't like this surprise.
He despised it more than Gon and you can even tell with his disguise on.

"Awwww looks like I'll have to apologize later~" Hisoka said in a teasing tone.
"Wha? W-why is he so furious. He's totally freaking me out!" Gon looked up at Hisoka but only received a smile.
"You'll find out sooner or later, my little frog~ Now go run along to your little friends~ The phase is about to start"
Hisoka pat Gon's head and pushed his back gently to make him move.

Gon jumped slightly away from the jester's hand and stuck his tongue out at Hisoka, running back to Killua.

"What was it that was so cool, Gon?" Killua waved.
"I guess I'm going crazy or something. Nothing was there except sweaty tryhards."
Gon sighed, making Killua chuckle.
"I mean, what'd you expect. But I can't let you go crazy on yourself Gon, I can't be left alone with these people." He patted Gon's shoulder, earning a smile from the boy.

"Right!"
