I finally did some deck shopping. It's early morning and I'm sitting on my new swing and sipping freshly brewed coffee. Feels like heaven.
I see a little guy peeking through the entryway. I ignore it twice but then it looks like someone wants to meet me. I open the wooden door and see a cute little boy wearing 'I'm Iron Man' T-shirt. He's looking with wide eyes up at me. So cute!

"How can I help you Mister?", I ask in a serious tone.

"Hello ma'am I'm Trevor St. John. I'm your neighbor. I'm 6 years old and I live next door with my Dad. He is Lorenzo St. John but everyone calls him Enzo", Trevor introduces himself.

"Hii Trevor I'm Bonnie and I've probably met your dad once, I think he's an interesting person"
I really don't want to tell him that his dad met me when I had my tongue down my best friend's throat. It was not one of my finest moment. Guaranteed his dad acted as an asshole too.

"Yes he is. He also tells me a lot of stuff about shark."

"So Trevor likes shark?", he sounds such a joyful kid.

"Ohh I love them, Miss Bonnie. I think they are most beautiful creatures", he says confidently.

"Hmm... I'm not sure dear, I think you'd have to prove that to me"

"Do you know that shark are so huge and so strong and powerful but they don't have bones"

"Ohhh.. really"

"Yes they have something called carley... tissue Um... carti... something that we have in our ear"

"You mean cartilage. Ohh that's amazing Trevor"

"Yes and also they see colours..."

I hear his name being called out from distance, he turns and looks back and says,

"Ohh dad must be searching for me, I'll go now. I'll see you later Miss Bonnie. It was really nice to meet you"

"Same here Trevor, feel free to visit"

As he was about to go back, I see his father approaching us,

"What did I tell you about open doors?", his father scolds.

Last time I must be too drunk to notice his handsomeness. The guy looks devastating in white shirt, black slacks and a blue tie. He's probably hiding four if not six packs under that shirt.

"Sorry dad I just went to get the ball that fell out and saw Miss Bonnie, I wanted to introduce myself"

"You could have came in and informed me before going somewhere kid"

"Sorry dad, it won't happen again"

"Apology accepted, now go and get ready, we're leaving in five"

Trevor says a quick good bye and runs next door. Now I'm standing with his father.

"Sorry if he interrupted you", he apologises.

"He didn't. He's a good kid."

"That he is. The best", he says with a proud smile.

I offer my hand and say,
"I'm Bonnie. Nice to meet you"

"Enzo. Nice to meet you too. I'm sorry about that night, I was tired and my kid wouldn't sleep and I guess, I took it out on you"

I don't think he's a bad guy. After all he apologised.

"It's okay. It was my fault too. We were being loud. It's been a while for us and so we were not able to keep track of time"

"Yeah, I guessed that. Mrs. Bennet was a very nice neighbour. She used to babysit Trevor sometimes."

"Ohh I didn't know that. Were you close with mum?"

"Yes. We used to have dinners every now and then."

We talked a little bit and then he said,

"Not to be rude, but don't you work? I mean I haven't seen you going out"

"Let me introduce myself properly, I'm Dr Bonnie Bennet, General surgeon at Mystic falls hospital"
