JUGHEAD POV:
I was sitting on the bleachers typing on my laptop and simultaneously watching my old gal-pal Archie play football. we used to be best friends alongside a certain beautiful blonde girl. yes, that blonde was betty cooper. I always had a crush on her or more likely loved her but she loved Archie all her life. I always felt bad and jealous of Archie . she never told any of us about her feelings for Archie but I could always see that in her eyes when she looked at her and that blush whenever he complimented her. which I never saw when she looked at me. don't get me wrong she never discriminated between me and Archie she supported me as much she supported Archie. Just that I could not bear the jealousy towards Archie which strained our relationship, he didn't know about my crush on betty, the real reason was that whenever someone from the football team bullied me he just stood there and never did something as if I was a stranger as if he just forgot about everything in our past. He also bailed on me on our road trip on fourth July which could have changed things between us. Since then we never talk he didn't even apologize for bailing on me.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by loud cheering from the football team. I decided to grab my things and go. While packing me I saw the only blonde who makes me nervous and makes my knees weak and that's what I am feeling right now. She was staring at me and looking deep into my eyes and I am doing the same but then I broke the eye contact because I don't want to feel more heartbroken than I already am.
when I broke the contact she looked disappointed and sad. I felt bad for making her sad but I had to do it anyways.
BETTY POV:
when jughead broke the eye contact felt bad and had a feeling that he doesn't even want to look at me. I don't understand what I have done to him. But, for now, I brush it off. I and veronica continue to talk and walk and then she said"betty is that hottie I met last night your boyfriend " whispering the last part and I just sigh"no, but I do have a crush on him," I said with a shrug. "really, you know what,t I can set you guys!!" veronica said eyes wide and excitement running through every part of her body." you will?!" I asked definitely shocked . "yes, and now just wait and watch, all you have to do is ask him to the back to the school dance," she said with a smirk. "what no, I can't do that," I said with a frown. "why not if you want him than just make a move " she begged me. "okay, okay"I sighed and said. "great!!!!!!" she said. and then made her way towards Archie and I followed her . "hey Archie !!" we said in unison. "hello ladies, nice outfits" he said which made me blush like crazy . "so Archie, betty wanted to ask you something" he said smiling and looked at me. "um.. uh Archie I was wondering if you wanted to go to the back to the school dance with .....both of us" I said quickly with my cheeks flushing a deep red. "huh" "what" Archie and veronica said in unison. "veronica today is your first day at Riverdale high, I want you to have a date." I said genuinely and she smiled at me and mouthed thank you . "um actually I am not really good at dancing...." Archie said and I felt disappointed." uh it ok-" I said but veronica cut me off and said "it's not ok Archie, c'mon don't be boring you have two beautiful ladies by your side ready to go as your date for the dance and you're saying no... if I were you I would have said yes straight away. so I ask you again archikines do you want to go to the dance with us . " she said with a smirk and an eyebrow raised. I smiled at her confidence and Archie chuckled "yes I would, so I'll meet you guys at 7 pm be ready" he said with a charming smile and then left ⚓⚓⚓⚓
