This wasn't how it should've gone...

"Alec, it seems to me, that I need to reboot your memory," Joe stated, while staring at me. "You are 16, kid. And you are the child, we are the adults."

"Some adults you are," I mumbled under my breath. I don't know if Joe heard me, but he just continued.

"We love you, Alec," Joe said sincerely. Ew, that felt weird. "And because of that we don't wan't you out there getting involved with stupid shit and risking getting killed."

"Yeah yeah, I get that so why can't you unground me?" I asked frustrated. Joe just ignored me.

"Those guys that you were dealing with, they can get really fucking dangerous if they wan't to," Mason said.

"But nothing happened," I whined.

"Quit being so disrespectful, Alec."

"Can't we make a deal then?" I asked hopefully.

"I think you've made enough deals already, Alec," Mason said, while staring at me with a deadly look. I just rolled my eyes, not wanting to give in to his provocation.

"But you could let me hang out with my friends again?" I begged. "Aiden and Sergio suck. And their friends too."

"You should be lucky that we even let you leave the house, kid," Mason said.

"I don't get it!" I groaned frustrated as I leaned back in my chair. "You wan't me to stay in school and get good grades, but I'll probably just be pulled out of school anyways, when you suddenly wan't me on the streets." Joe's face suddenly turned way more serious. Not mad, conflicted almost.

"We aren't going to discuss this right now, Alec," Joe said. "But you can see your friends in school again."

"Seriously?" I asked, and felt my mood being lifted by a thousand percent.

"Only in school though," Joe continued, all whilst receiving the death glare from Mason. "Because you are still grounded. Very grounded. And that Harper girl: you can only see her for school-purposes. And I hope I don't need to have the birds and the bee talk with you." My face turned beet red, and I hid it in my hands. "I just wanna let you know, there are condoms in the bathroom, and if you get her pregnant... we will kill you."

He patted me on the back, and casually got up and left, as if nothing had happened. I was still silently dying with my face in my arms. Mason just slightly chuckled and got up as well.

The next day in school I was over the moon, because I could finally see Nick and Boomer again. I hadn't had a chance to text them, because I still didn't have my phone. I found them during lunch. They were sitting at our usual spot.

"Guys..." They looked up at me, surprised to see me without Sergio and Aiden by my side. "Im free," I stated all giggly.

"Man!" Nick got up and bro-hugged (you know what I mean) me. "We missed you. This fucker was starting to get boring," he said and pointed to Boomer.

"Oh fuck off," Boomer exclaimed and hugged me as well. I swear he was on the brink of tears.

I took a seat, at our table and we instantly fell back into our old conversations, and I caught them up on the Harper situation, but I couldn't help but notice how Aiden and Sergio kept staring at me. I knew I wasn't completely off the hook but this was annoying.

"Guys, guys..." Nick shushed at us. "A senior, Emily Olsen, is throwing a party this Friday, and we are going." Nick had had a crush on her since the day we started on the school. He knew everything about her, he even knew her schedule by heart. She didn't even know he existed.

"We aren't invited," Boomer stated questionable.

"That doesn't matter," Nick said without a care in the world. "Who would turn this down?" He asked and pointed to him self. Boomer and I sent each other doubting looks before bursting out laughing.

"Bro, im not off the hook yet. Im still very grounded. I can't go."

"Yeah, we'll work around that," Nick said confidently.

"No we wan't. It's my ass on the line."

"Yeah, but isn't that worth sacrificing for a night at Emily Olsen's house?"

"Nothing is worth experiencing Joe's wrath. And im already walking on a thin fucking line here. If I do this they are never going to trust me again."

"Oh come on," Boomer said. "Odds are that they won't anyways."

"Wow, thanks man," I exclaimed ironically. "Plus, my brothers are probably gonna be there." I pointed to Aiden and Serg.

"Yeah and so is that Harper girl probably." Nick had a sly smile on his face, as he knew he got me cornered now.

"So Friday, you said?"
