"I like you."
It kinda took me off guard. I mean, I liked her too - like I liked liked her - but I hadn't been prepared for that coming from her.
"Thanks," was all I said. "No, wait!" I then said, as soon as I realized what I had just responded to. She chuckled and lifted herself up on her elbow so she was looking down on me. "I like you too. I definitely like you too."
She smiled and leaned down to kiss me. Her hands was playing with my hair, as our mouths played with each other. She pushed her tongue through my lips and I lightly bit her lip. She laid down on the ground and I leaned on top of her, my hands by her head.
"I like you so much," I mumbled in between kisses. "I like your hair. I like your eyes. I like how smart you are. I like how pretty you are." Her one hand tightened around my hair and the other held around my back. I started touching her boobs, and if it hadn't been for the alcohol I would have been shaking.
"Alec?!" I heard someone shout. "Alec!" Great, now what? I turned around to see Sergio and Aiden storm towards me. I shot up from the ground.
"Fuck!" i cursed under my breath. "No, no, no, no. Fuck!" I looked around for a way to run, but before I knew it Sergio had my upper arm in a tight grip. How embarrassing.
"Alexander, what the fuck are you doing here?!" He asked angrily. Then he looked towards Harper who stood, fixing her shirt. "Wow, really? I can't wait until Joe finds out about this."
"You'll tell him?" I asked frantically.
"What do you think, idiot?"
"But why?" I whined, and then remembered people, mainly Harper, was looking and I straightened up.
"Why? Because if its your ass or our ass on the line, I'm willing to sacrifice you," he angrily whispered.
"You prick!" I yelled. "Your to drunk to drive anyways! Then they'll kill you too!" I yelled snuggly, thinking I'd won that round. Aiden rolled his eyes at me, and picked up his phone. "No no no! Please... Look, let's just talk about this!" Aiden looked annoyed but put his phone down. Then he looked at Sergio, and they did their annoying twin-talking-without-talking-thing. Sergio then started dragging me towards the house, and as I resisted he just hit me upside the head and dragged harder. Aiden followed along up into a room, where they locked the door. I sat down on the bed, as they stood in front of me.
"Have you been drinking?" Sergio asked, with a slight concerned face.
"You have," I spat.
"Hey!" Aiden raised his voice a bit. "Joe could be on his way over here, but he's not." He grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him. "We're giving you a chance to save yourself. Don't waste it." He roughly let go of my face.
"I'm sorry," I muttered, as I stared down at my hands.
"Have you been drinking?" Sergio repeated. I nodded, too embarrassed to answer.
Aiden sighed angrily and Sergio shook his head disappointedly. Sergio stared at me for a bit, before turning to Aiden. "We have to call them," he whispered. My eyes widened, as realization struck me: tonight was the night I'd die. I started silently crying. I hated it, but the alcohol was getting to me and everything was just too much; Harper and I had kissed and it was amazing but now I would never see her again; I had ruined Sergio and Aidens night, by - as always - acting up; Joe and Mason was gonna lose the slightest bit of trust to me they had gained back. Everything was too much, I couldn't deal with it right now.
"He has to get home."
"He can't get home alone."
"What do you mean?"
"What do I mean? Look at him!"
"He can find home... probably."
"The idiot probably drove over here."
"I ain't driving him home."
I looked, up. "Harper could follow me home."
"No," they simultaneously said.
"Yeah, she's pretty sober."
"It's not about that, Alec," Aiden angrily said.
"Please..." I clasped my hands together and looked at them with begging eyes.
"Maybe it's our best odds..." Sergio mumbled.
"It's a dum idea," Aiden said angrily and left the room.
...
It was a cold night. I had lent Harper my jacket as we walked home, and she had smiled and kissed me. She knew the way home so I just had to follow her. There was not a single sky on the sky and I wanted to stargaze with her again, but every time I sat down on the curb she got me back up. "You're drunk," she kept saying. "No, I'm in love," I said back every time and kissed her hand. That made her laugh but she still dragged me home. When we came home the car still wasn't in the drive way and I was relieved.
"I'd ask you to come in with me, but..."
"I know," she whispered and took my home. I looked into her eyes and I could see she actually knew. She understood. She really knew.
"I'm sorry," I sighed.
"You don't have to be." She was still so sweet!
"Yeah i do. Im sorry I dragged you away from the party and I'm sorry I can't follow you home and-"
She leaned in to kiss me and thankfully shut me up.
"It wouldn't have been much fun without you there anyways," she said as we pulled away from the kiss. Then she kissed my cheek and left. I stood there, staring after her, for what felt like hours. I already missed her.
I heard a car getting closer, and saw the headlights down the street. It was Joe's car. With unnatural speed I climbed back up the tree and in my window. And just as the front door opened I had thrown all my clothes in my closet and had jumped in my bed. I heard Joe and Masons voices downstairs. A couple minutes passed and my door opened. The light from the hallway hurt my eyes, but I fought to keep them closed. Joe came over and kissed my forehead. But he didn't leave as he normally would. He went over to my window and closed it. As he left my room I heard him mumble to himself. "I always know."
