Ch.11|An idea

Morning came. I went to school, a bit sad because of what happened last night. I still see mom's face crying over Eva's dead body.
Ugh..don't cry Mako,be strong.

I didn't see Yukio,where was he? He usually waits for me here but no sign of him. Did something happened?

I waited 5 minutes then went to class, still I didn't see him. Strange.

I asked some of his teammates, he plays football in the school team,but they didn't see him either.

I asked his friends,even Camilia about him but nothing. They didn't know.

I had endless thoughts about what could have happened to him. This kept me from being focused on class.
This and Eva's backstory.

The bell could be heard through the halls and students were walking towards the school's gate but I felt someone grabbing me from behind

It was Yukio's father.

"Mr. Suzuki what happened?" I was scared,what was he doing at the school? Something must have really happened with Yukio.

"Mako,is the teacher still in class?"
I don't know what this man is made of,but he could keep his calm in the darkest times.

"I think so but what happened?"
Please tell me Yukio's fine..please.

"Yukio broke his leg that's why he didn't come today,and I came to tell the teachers personally." He could have called the principal and told him about this problem, but I guess this is better than a phone call.

"How did he broke his leg?" Still..he's a good football player,it rarely happens.

"He was practicing a new move for the next game and he fell pretty bad."
New moves,I bet he wanted to invent his own move.

"Oh.. can I come visit him later?"
Why not see his face,hehehe.

"Of course you can Mako!"

"Okay,see you later Mr. Suzuki!"

That idiot broke his leg huh?
I'm gonna buy him some gummies,he loves them. When we were young he told me ,if he had to choose between the last gummy bear on earth and me,he would choose the gummy. This is worse than an addiction...

After 2 hours, I went to a shop to buy some gummies then to Yukio.
I knocked on the door and his mom came.

"Good afternoon Miss. Suzuki,I came to see Yukio." Yukio,you've got yourself some kind parents man,i would love to be greeted like you by my mom,or dad.

"Hello Mako,his father told me you would come, come on inside."

She welcomed me inside and I went straight to Yukio's room.

"Knock,knock." Ah,classic knock knock jokes,everyone loves them.

"If you came to make fun of me,you can leave." His grumpy voice hid all his frustrations.

"Ok I'll leave and eat the goodies myself." I know how much a food lover he is. I think he will burst open the door, I'm scared.

"Wait Mako dont leave! C'mon man,come inside."

I opened the door and he was on the bed with his left leg rested on a pillow.

"If I didn't say 'goodies' I could have left. Hahaha." Maybe jokes will heal his wounds on his pride quicker.

"Shut up and sit there on the chair."
He pointed on the chair he would usually sit on while studying or play online games.

"You're such an idiot. Breaking your leg before a game." The best idiot ever,I think i have a trophy for him..

"You think I wanted to? And at least I dont come to anyone to ask how to ask a girl things." He hit me where it hurt the most..ouch.

"Touche.." I admitted my defeat,I cant compete with the all mighty Yukio.

"So,did it work? I'm curious. And open one god damn pack of gummies,I've been craving them for eternity!" There he is.. the true Yukio no one except me knows. The obsessed gummy kid..

"Calm down gummy man."
I opened the pack, if I didn't do it I think he would have killed me.

"Here." I leaned towards his bed,handing him the gummy package.

"Thanks! So.. did it work?" Why are you still asking me.. I hoped I would dodge the question.

"Nah not really. I don't really care about anyway. "
I lied of course. If I would say that I'm in love with a dead girl that I see he will think I'm crazy.

We talked for 30 minutes and then I went home,it was getting late.

It was already dark outside.
I felt as I was followed.
After some time I gathered up some courage and said.

"Who is there following me better come outside!"
If something happened I would run to the police station.

The wind blew by, carrying words and something special.

"So you can sense me now?"

I heard afamiliar voice. It was Eva,but I didn't see her.

"Where are you? I cant see you." I looked around but I could see only garbage bins.

She appeared from thin air.

"Like this new trick? Now I can spy you and others wont see me." She's so proud of that..it's not ok to spy Eva..

"You scared me you know?" I exhaled relieved that it was someone I knew. Things would have been worse.

"I'm sorry. Now can we continue walking?" She tried to cheer me up but I wasn't really upset about it.

"Yeah.. I walk and you fly." Rolling my eyes I started walking,waiting for a response.

"I got an idea,but I dont know for sure that will work out.." Her eyes were looking down on the road,and with her hand of her chin she thought about her idea.

"Let's hear it." I was curious, what idea went through Eva's mind.

"Do you want to fly too?" I was a bit surprised by her question. Of course I want,every human wants to have this some time in their lives.

"But how? I mean, I'm not.. you know." Im not dead to be able to fly,but it would be rude to say this in her face.

"Dont be rude! Let's give it a chance!"
She handed me her hand and smiled softly, trying to convince me that her idea would work.

After 15 minutes.

"Okay this is the dumbest thing I've ever did in my entire fricking life!
You were about to drop me 3 times!"
Breathing heavily, and thanking the universe for granting me another day on this planet.

I almost kissed the balcony floor.

"Hey! Not my fault that you were moving like a worm!" She responded angrily, implying that I was the one to blame.

After she said that,we both looked at each other and bursted out laughing.
