The first thing George thought of when he got back into his room was Dream. He needed to call him.  He wanted to tell him everything. How he just came out to his mom, and everything went way better than he ever would have imagined. But he couldn't.

He felt so distant from his own best friend. Even when he was genuinely happy, he had to hide it. He didn't know how much longer he could last like this.

It's already been two years, so why not add on, right? He shifted the thoughts to the back of his head and pulled out his phone. He pulled open his contacts, and hovered over the call button for the contact "Hardened Clay" He listened to the phone ring twice before the familiar voice filled his ears. He heard the raspy yet so familiar voice mutter a simple 'hello'.

"Did you just wake up? What time is it there?" George asked, completely forgetting they were in different time zones.

"It's only 3 pm, but I was taking a nap because I didn't sleep last night. " Dream said, in the middle of a yawn.

"Oh I'm sorry,  I can leave if you want. You need sleep," George said in a worried tone. He knows Dream barely sleeps and he knew that he needed it.

"No no, it's fine. I was barely asleep anyway. I was just thinking about things."

"What were you thinking about?"

"Oh, it's nothing important, honestly. How did it go with your mom?"

"It went well, we just caught up on family things and such."

"Nice. How's your sister doing? It's her first year in college, right?"

"Yea, Mum said she was doing good, I haven't talked to her in a while though."

They knew everything about each other. They basically knew each other's entire life story. They were each other's rocks, who they could share anything with. Except that one thing that kept crawling in the back of George's mind. He had feelings for his best friend, and the thought of that terrified him.

"GEORGE," Dream yelled, snapping George back into reality.

"Sorry, got a bit zoned out," George said, siting down at his desk, "So what's up?"

" Once again, you're annoying. I was talking about the girl I met. Her name is Nicole, and I really think that we could be something," Dream moved on. He was used to George zoning out like that.

George's heart fell to his stomach. He knew Dream was straight, but the thought of him having a girlfriend hurt him more than he wanted to admit.
