KEIRA KAI

"Good morning Mrs. Keira Yaden." A pleasantly deep voice came from the man which I couldn't help but stare at and marvel at the beauty that God has bestowed over him.

I couldn't help but bite my lip to keep in shock as I stared at my husband.

"You informed me on that vital information pretty early." I gritted sarcastically into the phone before disconnecting the call.

"Good morning, Yaden." I addressed him just I always did and a smile graced his beautifully crafted face.

"Are all of you here to get treated?" I raised a brow at his guards which startled them a bit but did not move an inch from their positions until he motioned them to move out and we were granted privacy.

"How are you doing? Long time no see. . . " He chuckled lightly trying to evade the awkward silence around us.

"I am fine, sit," I said not noticing his attire until his fingers went to his coat and released the buttons as his vest peaked out. His built became much more muscular in a good way, with slight clean stubble that made him look sophisticated and his posture which gave him a different type of feeling of power but his eyes, they stayed warm, welcoming, a complete contrast to mine.

"I- how is it going for you in here and the company?" He asked formally clasping his hands toghether.

"Good." I didn't want it to be awkward but I couldn't help it and we just sat there trying to find something to speak on, after almost 3 years what does he expect me to say.

"Have you shifted to the mansion? Mom was asking when you were going to shift back there," He asked staring at me with his dark eyes.

"I will now that you are here, are you here to pay a visit. . . ?" I trailed off.

"Yes I am here to stay, I have seen the progress you made after you became the co-owner, and it's splendid the board members were extremely happy and were praising you." He smiled warmly at me.

"Well, I am The Keira Kai what did they expect," I smirked at him to which he chuckled softly making a weird sensation run down my spine.

"I also wanted to- Before he could continue the door to my cabin opened and the female entered without knocking.

"The door was closed for a reason I am sure you know how to knock," I said blankly staring at the female as she blanched embarrassingly.

"Its nothing, we are gonna meet tonight anyway." He saved the woman before I could speak further and walked over to me.

"Have a good day, Keira." His muscular arms went around my shoulders as he pulled us closer in a hug. A strong coffee and aftershave scent wafted from him which made me weak in the knees if it weren't for his muscular arms wrapped around me in a vice grip I would have embarrassed myself.

"See you tonight." He smiled a warm smile and left leaving me with my beating heart.

I gently patted my chest to calm my racing heart, what is happening to me I get butterflies just by hearing his name. I was reminded of his dark eyes staring at me, listening to me with utmost devoted attention my perverted brain conjured this in a different scenario where various activities were taking place and not a single of them this sweet.

I smacked my head and sighed irritably before my eyes went to the female still standing by the door, with stern eyes, I motioned her in.

"Ma'am we've reached." I heard the chauffeur say as he broke me out of my reverie.

My gaze swept to The Mansion as we pulled into the driveway, I saw Mrs Yaden and her maid, Tina, a woman in her late 40's trailing behind her.

Mrs Yaden was a short Asian lady in her late 50's she believed in a different faith to what her husband followed but both of them seemed fine with it and didn't ever let it come between them. She smiled briefly at me as I stepped out of the car and walked over to them.

"Good evening Mrs. Yaden." I gave her a small smile not expecting her to pull me in a warm hug. I let my arms rest on my sides as she pressed us closer than ever possible.

"How are you doing, darling, I missed you soo much." She asked with an odd twinkle in her eyes.

I smiled in response as she ushered me in, The maid, Tina stood beside Mrs. Yaden like a protective shield, something about her didn't sit well with me but I didn't let it bother me much before I escorted myself to the stairs.

The Mansion stood up to its name with pillars on the sides of the entrance and tall mahogany doors that were shielded by nude shaded curtains on the inside. Multiple rooms are designed for their designated role. As I had been here before I was familiar with the routes and hallways even though they were a bit long and resembled each other quite alot.

"How was your day darling? I heard you were awarded for your services to the children suffering from ovarian tumors, that was an excellent strategy on your part, this had a positive impression on the board members as well." Mrs. Yaden clapped her hands in excitement as she ranted on and on.

"That wasn't any strategy Mrs. Yaden I didn't do it for the company but to provide care to those innocent children, the company is being handled well and that's all you should know," I pointed out gravely disappointed with her intentions.

"Oh I didn't mean it like that darling, you know I am not that kind of person, either way, that was truly kind of you." She assured with a hesitant smile holding onto my elbow.

I acknowledged her with a slight nod before striding towards my room.

The room which I used to stay in previously was just opposite to Rafe's which was quite different from his. While his room had a balcony that provided a beautiful view of the sky and backyard, mine only had a door-sized window located beside the bedside. While his room was painted in different neutral shades giving a fantasy aesthetic bedroom vibe mine was a beige color with mocha marble tiles which were equally comforting to the eyes.

I saw my luggage already arranged and the room made comfortable for me, I shrugged off my coat and threw it over a chair as I unwrapped my sandwich and took slow bites as I looked out the window which gave a perfect view of the front of the Mansion.

It was April which indicated the rain, New York has the most irritating rain showers which arrive any moment it likes and leaves silently as though it was never there. Just when I was about to leave I saw Rafe's car pull into the driveway, from where I was standing I had a clear view of him. My eyes trailed on him appreciating his smooth driving skills while I didn't even know how to drive. There are a few things that turn me on one of which is driving, especially by Rafe.

There was something about him that just, just makes me want to pull a chair and sit across him, admire him, was it his dark eyes which always seemed so compassionate and warm, or those plump lips which were always curled in a generous smile or those brown curls of his which no matter how much tamed came undone every time, maybe it is his brain, his intelligence that arouses me but none the less I stayed away from him and would continue to do so. For my sanity and his doom.
