"The patient is under anesthesia so it would take her sometime to regain her senses and your daughter will be brought in after some time as well until then you can wait." I said to the anxious-looking husband and as expected his eyes lit up with tears of happiness as he hugged everyone around him and cheering in happiness.

"Thank you so much it wouldn't have been possible without you, we are in forever dept of you." The man cried bowing infront of me.

"Pray for the speedy recovery of your wife and take care of her, her delivery was quite complicated its a miracle that she made it alive." I spoke eyeing him and left with a small nod.

I could feel a headache coming already as I walked the hallways to my cabin but fisted my hand as I gritted my teeth to gain stability.

That's what not eating food does to me.

For a second my vision blackened and my feet tangled on themselves making me stumble forward if it weren't for the person holding me upright I would have cracked my skull open from the fall.

My throat felt parched and my eyes burned scarlet due to the lack of sleep, I could hear my name being called but didn't have the energy to work out my thoughts.

I felt light touches on my body but couldn't respond more than a groan of pain. I felt something cold on my chest and a light caress on my face, a soothing effect making blood flow straight to my brain.

My eyes fluttered open as I glanced at Nimah who held me in her lap and caressed my face gently, a worried look marred on her usually bright face.

I noticed the worried stares I was attracting as I fainted right in the middle of the hallway.

I clutched my head as I got up slowly and backed up against the wall leaning my head on the wall,
"Can you bring my juice, it's in my cabin," I said softly to Nimah.

She nodded and got up quickly and was back before I could open my eyes with my juice.
I gently sipped as I leaned back on the wall soaking on the cold feeling as it slipped from my mouth to my stomach, an instant relief.

"Are you okay now?" I heard Nimah ask me as she rubbed my leg to provide comfort.

"Fit and fine." I winked at her weakly as she made a face at me before hitting me on the same spot she was rubbing.

"You are a big idiot how did you fall? Did you have anything before you went in for the surgery?" Upon noticing my sheepish smile she further hit the same spot lightly and continued to scold me, like a sister would, bringing a smile to my face.

"Do you want me to die from the stress you give me or smack you some more huh?" She stated angrily.

"The latter, it would be much effective." I chuckled as she reddened even more.

"Rafe will be here in a minute." I heard someone say and glanced up to see the CEO of The Yaden Industries, Kabir Malik.

"Why did you call him?" I frowned as I stared angrily at him.

"Because he's your husband and-"

"And what?" I gritted in anger, Rafe seeing me in such a vulnerable state was the last thing I wanted.

"Look he was bound to know, he would not be pleased to know if he was not informed about this," Kabir spoke in a calm and composed manner as if he was unbothered by this whole ordeal.

"I am fine, tell him not to come here." I seethed staring into his eyes, pouring out all the anger I could yet he didn't seem affected by it until I saw a little girl tugging at his pants which changed his facial expressions to a much warmer one, a protective one, a fatherly one.

"Don't scold my baba he sometimes makes m-mistakes bu-but he is good from here." The little girl said placing her small hands on her heart.

"Here you can have my chocky its mine, Mah told me I am allowed only one but I am giving it to you," She held it out to me, her loose pigtails swaying by her innocent head movements.

I glanced at Nimah in astonishment but she just kept staring at the little girl with her hands to her chest like a proud mother.

"Thank you, what's your name, darling?" I asked gently taking the chocolate from her.

"My name is Nayla Malik Bint Kabir." She spoke proudly widening her stance. I knew she meant daughter of Kabir when she said Bint Kabir and credits go to my father for teaching me.

"That's a very beautiful name you have." I flashed one of my rarest warm smiles and chuckled when she puffed her chest out proudly.

Just then I could visibly see the change in the environment the hushed whispers and clicking of multiple shoes, I gave Kabir one last look before glancing just in time to see Rafe Malachi Yaden emerge from the corner and take heavy and prompt steps towards me. His guards protecting him from the crowd but his steps didn't falter, the elegance and grace with which he walked could put even the gods to shame, I couldn't see his eyes because of the sunglasses shielding his eyes but something in me told me to give in, give into him.

For the first time in my life, I felt like a damsel in distress as I tried to get up but my body wasn't ready to abide by me.

The crowd parted for Rafe as he strode towards me, he gracefully removed his jacket and hung it around me as soon as he was in my reach.

"How did this happen?" He asked as he observed me for any physical injuries.

"I was playing on the floor." I deadpanned sarcastically.

"Can you get up, should I lift you?" He asked disregarding my response, anger flared in me as I huffed and didn't respond to his question spitefully.

I felt a gentle tug on my waist before I was pushed into his muscular arms his jacket now fully shielding me from all the curious stares.

"What in the hell are you doing! Put me down this instant!" I hissed angrily, my head spinned from the sudden rush and I gripped his shoulders for support. If he drops me now I'll drop him to hell personally.

"You are not in a condition to talk or move at the moment we can solve our lover's quarrel when we reach home." He spoke lowly only for me to hear but the girls near us giggled childishly hearing him while glared glaciers at them.

I pinched his shoulder in anger but didn't so much as wince instead held me tighter my mouth was almost touching his neck so close I could smell his manly scent and feel his strong arms on every part of my body. I stared at him praising his straight nose, his perfectly lined cupid shaped lips, and a jaw covered with slight stubble giving him a manly outlook and most importantly his eyes; the most expressive part of him which gave away all his emotions just like now, raging from vigilance and defensiveness to protectiveness.

"We'll reach home as soon as we can just stay awake." He asked something I wasn't capable of giving but instead of speaking, I stayed limp letting the exhaustion take over me.
