'Buzz! What happened?' Honey cried out in alarm as the door banged shut behind her.

Buzz barked out a hard laugh that sounded pained. 'Guess I'm not winning any beauty contests then.' Honey stepped closer to him as tears trickled down her pale cheeks. 'Don't cry little girl. Its not as bad as it looks.' he promised. Honey looked at his blackened, swollen face and the bandages in various places across his body. One eye was almost completely closed and she could see gaps in his mouth where there used to be teeth.

'How can you say that? Who did this to you?' Honey sobbed. Buzz lifted his arm weakly and reached his fingers towards her. She took his rough hand in her soft one and sat down heavily.

'I'll be ok Honey. The Doc's here have patched me up and I'll be home in a few days. The club is taking care of the rest of it for me.' he rasped before coughing and hissing with the pain of it.

'The rest of what? Please give me a straight answer. Don't give me any shit about accidents. Someone did this to you.' Honey almost shouted.

'You're right, you're right. Nash doesn't want you worrying but I told him that our girl is too fierce to be scared. I was set up. I was hooking up with a guy I met in a bar but it turns out he was with another club. When I got there, he was waiting with two others.' Buzz said with a hard bitterness to his voice.

'Three on one!' Honey gasped, both hands flying to her mouth. She was horrified that he was so calm about it.

'They got me pretty good.' Buzz continued 'I got some teeth knocked out, a few busted ribs and lot of bruises. Nothing that won't heal missy, so don't you worry about me.'

'Why did it happen? Was it because you're gay?'

Buzz laughed again before wincing. 'Not at all girly. Seems that they're unhappy that we're pretty close to some of their turf. They did this as a warning to back off. Trouble is, I don't think they've ever met Tommy. He's one hard bastard and he's fucking furious.'

'Is there going to be trouble?' her voice was barely a whisper now.

'You best talk to your man about that. I don't want a beating off him too for telling you too much.'

'Has he been here? Mia brought me here from school.'

'He has, rest of the guys too. My bet is that they'll be at the club. Talking things through. Plotting. Best thing you can do, missy, is go home and wait for him to come home.' Buzz said in his best teacher voice.

'I'm not going home alone, Buzz. Not after today.' Honey admitted weakly.

'Why what else has happened.' Buzz said, fixing his good eye on her and taking her hand again.

'Nothing.' Honey denied far to quickly.

'You'd best tell me now girly. Something has happened and I want to know what it is.'

Honey reluctantly gave Buzz a brief outline of everything, including what the assistant principle had said as well as Brett. Buzz listened with interest and a look of something Honey couldn't quite put her finger on, flashed across his battered face. 'Tell Nash, tell him everything.' Buzz whispered as his eye fluttered shut and Honey realised he had drifted asleep.

She crept from the room quietly and found Mia standing a little way down the corridor talking to her brother. They both smiled as she approached.

'Don't worry Miss Honey' Jamaica said gently. 'He'll be home soon enough.'

'I can't believe someone would do that to him.' Honey choked out. 'He's such a softy.'

Jamaica laughed quietly 'One of the other guys who attacked him is in a coma. Buzz knows how to handle himself, trust me. The odds weren't quite in his favour this time though.'
