The weeks past and nothing happed that caused alarm. Nash got stronger everyday. His bandages were off now and the ugly scars with their tight pink skin were prominent across his body. Despite his wishes, Honey had returned to school. She was determined to finish her education and make something of her life. When he was able to Nash drove her in his truck, it was still too painful to ride the bike, his body ached if he stayed in the same position for too long and the vibration of the engine aggravated his still sensitive nerves. Buzz kept an especially close eye but no-one approached her at all, not even the Trantor boy.

Honey was a regular now at the club during the club meets, the ladies nights or just as a general place to hang out. She was well liked by all the members, male and female, her past outbursts forgiven. Everyone knew how she had sat with Nash and refused to leave his side. She had proved her metal.

Tommy watched her like a Hawk when Nash wasn't around but no-one messed with her. Everything was quiet. Too quiet.

'I don't like this' Hank muttered one evening as the men sat round in the darkened club house. Honey was with Clara and Viola at Clays house. Clay, Tommy, Nash, Preach and Albert sat with some of the others discussing their next move.

'What's to like' Tommy replied to the prospect as he took a long slurp of his beer.

'You know what I mean man.' Hank continued 'If the scorpions are planning something, why haven't we heard something? If that kid was harassing Miss Honey, why has he stopped? She was properly fucked up that night. It wasn't like she was jumping at shadows. She was spooked bad. Shit like that don't just go away. Feels like something is coming.'

'Maybe its because of the security we have around her now?' said Preach. 'Buzz, anything at all out of place in school?'

'Nothing at all.' he replied sitting forward and running his fingers through his long hair. 'That girl is a ghost in there. She doesn't speak to anyone, doesn't look at anyone and doesn't notice anyone. or anything.'

'At least if no-one bothers her, she's not getting hurt, any of the teachers give her a hard time?'

'Ha,' barked Buzz 'They wouldn't dare with me around. I've asked a few and they've all said the same, she's quiet but she's working.'

'So what about the Scorpions?' Nash asked from his quiet corner. He didn't say much anymore, his mind constantly working out strategies and plans of action for any given situation. Always with Honey in the centre of his focus. He didn't intend to drop his guard like he did last time and end up out of action for what felt like an eternity.

Tommy huffed. 'Those fuckers need taking out. If they get here without us knowing then it'll be a fucking massacre. I've got contacts that have informed me, reliably, that they haven't left Arizona but we need to be ready. If they are linked with Honey's skank mom, then there's a good chance they'll make a heading for here. Nash is everything set?'

'It is chief. Got a whole armoury ready to go. Them fucks won't know what hit them.' he said with a hint of pride that he could be useful at something.

'Maybe its time I took Clara home.' Albert said as he peered at his son over the rim of his glass. 'Away from here.'

'Hold up there Al,' Tommy said, holding his rough hand out to the older man to stop him from going any further. 'I see what your saying but its Nash they'll be after. If they know where he is, then they'll know where you are and we don't want you getting hurt either. Best if you stay put, at least until we know what their plans are.'

Albert huffed and his brother in law clapped him on the shoulder. 'He's got a point Al, best stick on here where we can dig in together. Honey will be glad of Clara's company a bit longer. I think Cla is treating Honey as the daughter she never had.'
