5 years later...
"Babe, where are you?" A smile forms on my face at the sound of Zander's voice as he walks through the front door.
"In our room." I answer back as I walk out of the bathroom and towards the bed with a large pile of clean laundry on it. I start folding it, nerves filling my body.
"I have news." My eyes look towards the door as he walks through it, a large grin on his face.
"Did you get it?" I ask curiously as he steps in front of me. The last 6 months have been rough, Zander has been working day and night trying to sign a rather large contract with the biggest media company in Hollywood, California.
"Yeah, I got it."
I scream excitedly as I throw my arms around him. "I'm so proud of you babe." Zander's arms wrap around me, lifting me into the air. I press my lips against his as I wrap my legs around his waist, need filling my body at his touch.
"Daddy!" Our moment is interrupted by our two-year-old. Zander and I break apart right as he walks inside.
"Max!" Zander says, matching the excitement in his son's voice as he lifts him into the air. Max reminds me so much of my brother, from his tiny little nose to his curly brown hair. I watch the small interaction between father and son and my heart melts.
It's crazy to think about where I was all that time ago, that I really believed I wasn't worthy of anything or anyone. It hasn't been easy but when I agreed to marry Zander I decided to get better, to do whatever I needed to do to fight away the demons living inside of me. I found medications that helped me, a therapist who actually helped and worked through my past trauma.
I've been off my meds for some time now, it was only meant to be temporary and they were. I still see my therapist twice a month, more if the need arises.
Zander sets Max on the floor and he runs out of the room as fast as his little feet can go.
"I believe we were in the middle of something before we got interrupted." I look towards Zander who has a sly look on his face as he takes a step forward, wrapping his arms around my waist and pressing me up against him.
"We were, yes." Zander's hands slid down my ass and then I'm in the air and my legs wrap tightly around him. His lips touch mine softly, tenderly and I melt into him. His lips travel down my neck sending a shiver through my body. "Zander. I have something to tell you."
"Can it wait?" He asks as his lips move farther down, my heart rate speeding up.
"I'm pregnant." I whisper out. His movements stop and he lifts his head and I can't understand the look on his face.
"You're pregnant?" There's a curiosity in his voice like he heard me but he's not sure he heard me right.
I nod, "yeah. I just took a test. It was positive."'
"You're pregnant?" I nod again, letting the information sit in his mind. "We're gonna have another baby." The joy slowly forms on his face as a smile appears. "We're gonna have another baby." He repeats excitedly this time. "We're gonna have another baby." He spins me around and around causing laughter to erupt from my lips as we spin.
He slows down and then stops, both of our grins wide. "We need a bigger house." I tease.
"I'll buy you whatever you want, the biggest house we can find, how ever many rooms you want. With the biggest backyard we can find." I laugh as he rambles on from the excitement. "We're going to have a baby." The words come out as a whisper this time.
"We're going to have a baby." I whisper back.
"I love you, Freya Scott." His lips press into mine before I can respond.
If someone had told me 6 years ago this would be my life I never would have believed them. Someone like me wasn't allowed to have love, didn't deserve it. But Zander-with the help of Miya- showed me just how wrong I was. I deserve love, everyone does. Love isn't something you earn, love is given even if you don't want it, even if you think you don't deserve it. Love gave me so much more than I ever thought was possible. Love gave me something to fight for, a reason to live.
