The Mumuu, Hyperspace
0600Kaar sat up, having felt like he slept better than he had in a long time. He looked over at Droidbait, still sound asleep. He'd gotten his cybernetic eye a month ago, and Sparkler had been gone for a month and a half.
He sluggishly moved his legs over the side of the bed. Today was the day. He had worked with Mace so it'd be set up that he would be on The Resolute today.
Why today?
Because today, his Master would join the galaxy.
Kaar braided back two segments of his hair, tying it back with the section of blue cloth she had given him. He pulled on his tunics and leggings, then walked over to the side of the bed where Droidbait was laying.
He lightly shook him, the clone rolled over with a soft groan. Kaar smiled a little, leaning down and nuzzling his neck. His sargent still wouldn't get up. Feeling particularly boyish so early in the morning, Kaar licked the back of Droidbait's neck, sending him practically flying out of bed still gripping a pillow.
Kaar started laughing, getting hit in the face with the pillow as Droidbait shrieked, "Cyare! Augh— that's so gross! Why would you— eugh!"
The Kaleesh was doubled over laughing as his partner trudged off into the 'fresher making disgruntled noises of disgust. He called after him, "I love you!"
He got grumbled Mando'a back. He finished getting ready and waited outside the room for Droidbait to come out.
After about ten minutes, out he came, wearing his training shorts and his sweater. They exchanged no words, heading towards the mess hall quietly. They had an hour and a half before The Mumuu dropped out of hyperspace, and Kaar wanted to make the most of it.
Kaar started some caf in the officers lounge, while Droidbait took it upon himself to help out on requisitions. He knew better than Kaar what the men needed after all. He curled up on the comfiest end of the couch, chuckling a little as Kaar ruffled his hair and dropped a ration bar in his lap.
"Might I interest you in a lump of sawdust this fine Oh-six-thirty?" He purred jokingly as he got down their cups.
"Yes you may." Droidbait laughed, opening the ration bar and taking a bite. "Oh, you gave Krayt range time?"
"Of course I did, you kept letting other squads go before you."
Kaar set a hot cup of caf in front of Droidbait, hopping over the back of the couch and curling his tail around him. For the next twenty minutes, they went efficiently through forms. At oh-seven-hundred, Officers and select ARCs started to filter in and out, getting caf and ration bars to start their days. About half hadn't yet gotten into their armor or greys.
They occasionally waved hello, or even greeted them verbally, but the experienced men knew that neither cared how they were greeted. Kaar could always tell who were shiny, since they were always more high strung and careful about protocol.
When the ship lurched out of hyperspace, Droidbait and Kaar set down their empty cups. Droidbait stretched, finally popping his back. He turned the opposite way to Kaar, headed to grab his dress greys and mumuu mask, while Kaar headed up to the bridge.
