I had known Sirius my entire life, he was one of my best friends and someone I had fallen hard for. He was the best part of me, sometimes even the worst. I was a witch, I had been brought up by very powerful witches in some ancient coven, it was pretty complicated stuff. I didn't have a proper family growing up, Sirius and Remus had always been there for me, they were like brothers. They were my family. Remus was a teacher at Hogwarts, Sirius was banished to Azkaban for fifteen years, I hadn't seen him since they came for him, but rumours went round that he escaped, god knows how, escaping Azkaban was near enough impossible. I had been staying at the Black house, I had waited for him to come back, but I knew he wouldn't. "Hey, kiddo. How you holding up?" Remus looked at me, as his wife, Tonks held onto his arm, also concerned. "I'm not great, but when am I ever?" I shrugged, "He'll come back, y/n." Tonks hugged me, as I squeeze her gently. "I wish I could believe that." I whisper, as I lean against her shoulder. "Remus, give us a minute." She glanced back, he nodded as he headed downstairs. "He'll come back, I swear." She looked down at me, "Fifteen years, Tonks. He isn't coming back for me.. he probably doesn't even remember me, for gods sake." I lean into her shoulder. "He loves you, I know it! Look, it worked out for me and Remus. Didn't it? He came back for me after the war. And you know what? Sirius will walk through those doors again." She smiled a bit, as she left me alone again, I wipe my eyes, before I decide to go for a walk. I headed down the path, looking around. "This place is a dump." I sigh, as I kick some mud around, I was wearing boots, so I didn't care that much.

"Penny for your thoughts?" That voice made me freeze, I felt like I couldn't breathe, a tightness inside my chest. I turn around, as Sirius smiled a bit at me, "Sirius.." I whisper, he looked incredible, but he had escaped a while back, I didn't know where he had been. "Y/n." He smiled a bit. "You came back?" I quickly hug him tightly, gripping onto his back as I shut my eyes, I just wanted to cry, he seriously made me melt. "Of course I came back for you, sweetheart." He whispered, as he held onto my hair, as I sobbed into his shoulder. "Fifteen years, Sirius. I waited for you to come.. and you didn't come back." I lean against him, "I got out, y/n. Fifteen years in Azkaban.. and I didn't do it. You know I didn't do it, don't you?" He looked down at me, "I know, I know.. I believe you. I always believed you." I wipe my tears away, as he gripped onto my shoulders. "Is everyone okay? Is Harry?" He asked. "He's at the house.. he'll want to see you. And Remus.. they're all there. But I guess you knew that." I wanted to just tell him that I love him, but it was stuck in my throat. I couldn't do it, "I'm so glad you're here." He smiled softly, before he turned and walked to the house, I just stood there, watching him, before I go the other way, I didn't know why I couldn't tell him, but I just couldn't say what I wanted to. "Fuck!" I trip up, twisting my ankle as I slip onto the ground.

"Son of a bitch!" My foot was stuck in between some tangle weed, it was wrapped around my foot, it was pretty tight and I couldn't move, it had me pretty tight. "Remus! Sirius! Anyone?!" I shouted out, but it was silent. Nothing in sight. The house was quite a walk away, but it felt like it was getting tighter. The pain in my foot was pretty bad, I just hoped it wasn't broken or something. It would get dark soon, I couldn't be stuck here, not outside. It was dangerous at night, anything could happen to me. "Sirius!" I called out again, as I heard something. "Oh- y/n?" Harry, Ron and Hermione found me, walking up the path. "Can you guys help me?" I flinch, as they realise what happened. Hermione noticed that I was pretty injured. "We have to act fast before this stuff gets up any higher, these things can kill you." They all help me to get out of the tangle weed, as I stand up, I felt dizzy and like I was going to pass out. "Harry, she doesn't look good.." Ron says, as we got to the house, Sirius noticed what was happening. "Easy, easy.. I got you." He catches me as I fall back, he picks me up pretty easily, as I blacked out.

When I wake up, I was inside my bedroom, my foot felt very sore, but not as bad as earlier. "You're lucky that you didn't break a bone." Sirius' voice came into the picture, as I look up. "I slipped." I shrugged, "It's dangerous out there, y/n. You shouldn't walk alone." He grabbed my hand, as I nodded. "I'm sorry." I whisper, "Do you have any idea how bad I felt? Seeing you so hurt? It kills me. I just want to protect you." He kissed my forehead. "I've been in love with you since we were teenagers, Sirius." I admitted, he fell silent. "I see." I glance away, as I felt him sit beside me, "You see?" I look back at him, "You're not alone in that one, y/n." He watched my eyes, "I'm not?" I smile a bit, as I grip his hand tightly.

"No. You're never alone. I love you too, I just want you to be okay. That's all I ask."

"That's good enough for me. I'm glad you're back, Sirius."
