I pounded on the alarm and knocked it over as it beeped over and over again announcing my first day of school.
Groaning I rolled of my bed and got in the shower.

Managing to tame my fiery red curls in a fishtail braid I walked over to my closet and opened the door, staring at my clothes, I had NOTHING to wear.

Everything new has been used and everything old reused. Settling on a ripped pair of jeans, a leather jacket and black shirt, I stared in the mirror and decided not to put on my contacts and leave my eyes the green color they are.

I sprayed some perfume on and hung my backpack over my shoulder. I went downstairs and my mom was already up. "Hey Hailey, I put a bagel in the toaster for you." I mumbled a quick while gave my mother a hug and a kiss goodbye.

After the bagel popped out, I put some cream cheese on it and poured myself some milk. "Bye, sweetie." My mom called as she headed for the door. She was going on a business trip as usual.

Living close to school was a perk of the location of the new house. It was only a 10min walk. I got to school on time, but I had no idea where to go. Why not start investigating?

Students crowded the halls, sitting on the floor, talking, texting, anything. I saw a boy standing on the corner who looked nice enough. I walked up to him: "Excuse me, do you know where Mrs. Capucci's room is? "

"Whoa, hey there Red, what make you think you can talk to me new girl?" He shoved me into a locker. "Don't speak unless spoken to, know your place loser!"

"Im sorry I didn't realize-" I tried to apologize but he interrupted.
"Didn't realize that you couldn't just walk in here and talk to me? I have standards, I don't talk to ugly girls like you, its bad for my reputation."

"I was just asking for directions..." I tried .

what's up with the hair anyway? Trying to impress everyone with your wig new girl" He asked.

"My hair is 100% real" I snapped getting tired of dealing with him.

"Oof the new girl's got sass." He said in a nasty, sarcastic tone. I walked away, and didn't turn when he asked me where I got my contacts and why I was so fake.

They're just trying to get to me.
'Just because I have green eyes and red hair, doesn't mean they're fake.'I thought to myself.

Suddenly, I feel someone grab the strap of my backpack and pull it back harshly. I tripped on my toe and crashed down to the floor. A strange fear came over me as my cheeks got red with embarrassment. "I was talking to you." says the guy from before.

My books had fallen out of my bag. Papers flying everywhere as people stepped on my hands and kicked the pens and pencils that had fallen out as well. The bell rang and everyone cleared the hallway. I was left alone to pick up the huge mess. I felt so out of place.

I gathered all of the pens and papers until I heard someone running down the hall. The boy was cute, he had blue dyed hair and wore skinny jeans and a tank top that said: The Rolling Stones.

The boys expression changed as he approached me. "Do you need any help" he asked, his voice filled with concern. "Erm, um, uhh." I stuttered "It's okay. I'll help." he said picking up some books. "Thanks" I said.

"So what's your name?" he asked. "I'm Hailey."I responded. "That's a beautiful name." he said, making me blush. "So, what happened".

"A boy pulled my bag and all my books fell."

Who did it?".

"I don't know. I'm new."

"Obviously". he said chuckling. "I'm Michael Clifford". "What class do you have now?"

"I have Mrs. Capucci for Speech and Debate."

"Oh, good luck with that, her class is down the hallway to the left, you'll know you're there when you see a
An old wrinkled prune blabbing about nonsense" he said laughing. I giggled.

The boy was quite cute. He wasn't like the others. We both stood up.

"Well, um, thanks."

"Any time Hailey." he said walking into a class room on the right side of the hall.

I speed walked down the hall and and to the left. I opened the door and the teacher turned her back and stared at me. " Why are you late?!" The teacher yelled.
