chapter six

Tony managed to deal with the Hulk. Clint, Kai and Steve helped Natasha and Thor to get back to the Quinjet. They were now back in the air.

"The news is loving you guys," Maria was on a video call connected to the jet, "Nobody else is. There's been no official call for Banner's arrest, but it's in the air."

"Stark Relief Foundation?" asks Tony.

"Already on the scene, How's the team?"

"Everyone's..." he trails off, "we took a hit. We'll shake it off."

"Well for now I'd stay in stealth mode, and stay away from here."

"So, run and hide?" Kai joins their conversation, leaning on the wall.

"Until we can find Ultron," states Maria, "I don't have a lot else to offer."

"Neither do we," replies Tony. He switches off the monitor ending the call. He turns to Clint who's flying, "Hey, you wanna switch out?"

"No, I'm good," replies Clint, "If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, cause we're still a few hours out."

"A few hours from where?" Tony raises his eyebrow.

"A safe house."

The Quinjet lands outside a large and quite beautiful farmhouse and they all walk towards it.

"What is this place?" questions Thor.

Tony answers but also asks, "A safe house?"

"Let's hope," Clint says under his breathe. They all enter the house, "Honey, I'm home."

A obviously pregnant woman walks in from the kitchen, looking relieved but then she spotted the others with him.

"Hi," he walks towards her, "Company. Sorry I didn't call ahead."

"Hey," she replies. She kisses his cheek.

All of them watch the two, except Nat, who was still out of it, and Kai who had a huge smile on her face. But the rest were all confused. Barton had a wife?

Tony mumbles quietly to Thor, "This is an agent of some kind."

Clint turns to the team, "Gentleman, this is Laura."

"I know all your names," her eyes glide across each of them, landing on Kai, her voice squeaking higher, "Especially you!"

Laura opens her arms, Kai runs up to her and gives her a huge hug.

"How are you?" smiles Kai as she stuffs her face into the crook or Laura's neck.

Laura pulls away then smiles back, "I'm great."

The team looks at them awkwardly.

"Ooh, incoming!" shouts Clint. Two little children run in. One girl and one boy, Kai and Nat know both of them. In fact they knew about Clint having a family the entire time. Natasha was basically like their aunt, since Clint was like her brother. And Kai was like a daughter to him. Whenever her father would be super busy in the past or when times were dangerous, he'd send her to live with Clint.

"Dad!" the girl, Lila, shouts.

Clint picks up his daughter, "I see her!" He kisses the top his son's head. "Hey, buddy! How you guys doing? Ooh..."

"These are..." Tony stares at the children, "smaller agents."

Thor backs up, stepping on a lego house the kids had probably built, breaking it. He looks at Steve who's the only one who saw, then sweeps it under the couch with his foot.
