I didnt forget about us.

Matteo,

I didn't forget about you, how could I? I still search for you in every sunrise, I still hear you in every song, I still dream about you in every sleep. Darling the second I laid eyes on you I knew you were mine.

The morning of the wedding was here. Me and the groomsmen were in the master bedroom getting our suits on and preparing. This all felt so strange and it finally hit me that this was happening. Giselle and her bridesmaids were getting ready in another room. Mother was pacing around the hall as the guest arrived. I kept looking down the stairs into the hall and seeing all the people. Royalty from all around came to see me and Giselle.

After an hour or 2 it was time for me to head up to the alter. I walked down the long steps and all eyes were on me. Louis and all the groomsmen and bridesmaids were all waiting at the alter. My legs were shaking and I felt sick to my stomach.

I slowly made my way up to the stand. The priest shook my hand and I stood awkwardly at the top. Music began to play and Giselle made her way down the aisle, she looked nice of course she wore a long gown and her hair was down with a part braided in the back. I don't know what came over me but it angered me the way she was posing for all the cameras instead of looking at me, her well, husband. She walked up and everyone cheered. The priest started saying his prayers and eventually we got to vows. Giselle went first.

"I promise to wake you up every morning with a kiss."

I promise to surprise you with sudden gifts."

I promise to travel the world with you."

"I promise to be a good wife and always be honest."

I promise to love you and be loyal."

"I promise to make you laugh."

"I promise to encourage and inspire you."

"I love you"

Everyone in the audience looked at us with teary eyes. Give me a damn break. I notice my mother in the distance giving me a thumbs up to start my vows. I scan the room and I spot you in the corner. Although you always look beautiful today is on another level. Elianas hair is in a low bun and she's wearing a yellow flowy dress. I catch my self staring and then she looks me in the eyes. It's as if i'm forgotten where I am. All I cant see is Eliana. She looks heartbroken and it's tearing me apart. I get lost in her beautiful sad green eyes. When I look at you I see love. It hits me like a bus.

What am I doing here, this isn't right I can't stand the thought of Eliana and me not together at last. Meeting her was like hearing a song for the first time and knowing It would be my favourite .

As I start my vows all the guests look confused. They notice me looking at Eliana as I talk. Everyone is looking at her as am I. The thing is these vows are completely on the spot and there not for Giselle at all. There for her, the love of my life.

"I promise to always take you to see the stars."

"I promise to always protect you and make sure that nobody ever hurts you again."

"I promise to shower you with my affection."

"I promise to remind you every day how beautiful you are."

I can see the tears running down her face. Her body slowly shaking.

"I promise to go on adventures with you."

"I promise to always make you laugh and have the best times together."

"I promise to love you for eternity."

"And lastly I promise to never make you question our love again, your mine forever. "

The whole room is completely silent. Whispers fill the room. Giselle taps me on the shoulder and says loud enough for the whole room the hear. "What the fuck just happened. Why were you looking at her". The whole room gasps.

I look to the back of the room and Eliana runs out of the room crying with her heels In her hand.

I look at Giselle and my mother.

"i'm not gonna spend the rest of my life with someone for money, I love Eliana and i'm going to go get her before it's too late. And if you cant accept that mom i'm sorry.  I love you "

I look at Louis and he's grinning from ear to ear. Ivy is also in her chair jumping up and down motioning for me to go get Eliana. I run off the alter and everyone gasps. Giselle and my mother are screaming my name.

At this point i'm not thinking, I run as fast as I can into the garden where I find Eliana sitting on a bench looking at her feet. I run up to her and grab her hands to pull her up. She looks up. Her makeup is a mess and her bun has fallen out. Her brown hair is swaying in the wind. The moon radiates her face beautifully.

"You're a mess." I say smiling so hard my cheeks hurt.

"Look at you? You just ran out of your own wedding." She says laughing.

I let out a self deprecated laugh.

"I had to catch you. Eliana leaving you was the biggest mistake. I've never loved anyone this way and I cant leave you." I grab her face.

She just smiles back crying even harder.

"Matteo I never stopped thinking about you."

"You didn't? I thought I was too late. "

"I would've waited for you forever if I had too." She says.

I wipe her tears with my thumb.

"You saved me." I tell her.

Eliana grabs me and pulls me into a kiss. And it's like fireworks erupting in my heart. Our lips fall so naturally together like they are never supposed to be apart. We kissed and time stopped like the whole universe was healed.

After our kiss we get on our bikes and run away from the wedding to our spot.

We lay down and watch the stars. She lays on my chest as we talk about everything. That was the night we made love for the first time. And as we slowly unraveled our clothes showing every imperfection. We only loved each other more. After we made love we laid with our hands intertwined. Her head on my shoulder and I played with her hair as she closed her eyes. Now was the start of a life together. I would never leave her from now on. I wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of eternity with her. We had saved each other. And although it was a rough track to get here we ended up in the right spot. With her in my arms under the stars. At last we were home. As long as we lived under the same stars together we would be.
